Root rather misread the length of that and went back to a fuller and flatter ball.

Good over from Abrar, much more challenging than his last couple. Hitting the right areas and finding some turn.
Root nearly pops one up to short leg but then misses out on a low full toss that drifts down leg. Maiden over.

What I love about Saturdays here is that a lot of the local school kids come in. They're given tickets to come in and join the action.

Duckett and Root continue to work the ball around off Nawaz, milking ones and two for the remainder of the over - 10 from it in total.
Lead by 138
Back-to-back threes for England as Mohammad Nawaz comes into the attack for the first time in the innings.
Duckett punched his first ball through extra cover before Root cleverly opened the face to run the next down towards third.
This is where the international game feels like a different sport, you'd never see two threes in a row in club cricket! I'm tired just watching them do it.

It'll take more than glasses to make you look scholarly, I'll tell you that.

Is everyone who wears glasses now scholarly?

A sweep from Duckett, meeting the ball from Abrar on the full, gets him two and takes England to 50.
Another, finer, sweep from Duckett earns him a single and Root paddles the last ball of the over around the corner for one more.

Closer that I thought in the end. It was going on to hit the stumps but the impact was umpire's call.
It looked outside on first viewing but that was close. Not out but Pakistan retain the review.

BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special
That didn't feel out to me. The impact felt outside the line.
Huge appeal from Pakistan as Duckett misses with an attempted reverse sweep. Has Abrar got his man?

Root chops that very late for four. As late and as deft as you can play a late-cut.
Lead by 127
A variation on a Root classic as he chops the ball past gully for four. His first boundary of the innings.
We've seen him play that shot all around the world but with so little bounce on offer in Pakistan, that was more of a chop than the usual guided number.
Vic Marks
Former England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
Duckett has played the odd sweep but nowhere near as many as in the first innings. The reason is quite straightforward because there are two men back on the boundary for that shot.
Lead by 122
Another quiet over after the restart as Root drives Abrar out to deep cover for one before Duckett nudges the last delivery leg side to keep strike.
So much time left in this game and England are in no rush. For now.

England are going a touch slower than they did in the first innings but they're still going at a good pace.

Ali finds his line and length after that first ball. Duckett is unable to pierce the infield and that will be drinks.
Lead by 120
Mohammad Ali is back on, replacing Faheem Ashraf. His first ball is too wide and Ben Duckett slaps it away through the covers for four.

In reply to Matt earlier, Narendra Hirwani took 16 wickets on his debut for India against the West Indies in 1988 while wearing glasses. Love seeing glasses wearers doing so well this Test.
