James Anderson is a touch full with his third ball and Kane Williamson times an on drive. It appears to be going straight to Stuart Broad at mid-on but then rises up off a patch of rough and jinks past his old bowling mucker leaving him with a chase as New Zealand run three.
Next ball Henry Nicholls plays Anderson with soft hands and the ball races away through the vacant third for his first boundary of the day.

Kane Williamson has not quite scored the weight of runs since he gave up the New Zealand captaincy. Almost the opposite of Joe Root. But when Williamson gets his rhythm and flow he's a joy to watch and a dangerous player who can bat long.
Solid enough start by Ollie Robinson. A couple of teasing decent balls outside off stump which the left-handed Henry Nicholls is happy to leave alone.
Two runs off the over as Nicolls picks up a couple with a clip to leg.
The Basin Reserve looks a picture as Ollie Robinson goes through his own final stretches. He will bowl the second over of the day.

Ex-England captain on BT Sport
If you are a batter of Kane Williamson's class you want to bat as long as you can, make an impact, put some runs on the board and make a contribution that's telling. Not four runs to pass a milestone. We have had the joy of Joe Root in this game and for cricket lovers to have him playing in his inimitable style it's a double treat.
An early boundary for Kane Williamson, with a beautiful drive through mid-wicket off James Anderson's fourth ball of the day. A tad overpitched by Anderson.
That boundary takes him clear of Ross Taylor (7,683) as New Zealand's all-time leading runscorer in Test cricket with 7,684.
Not that you could tell from Williamson's body language. He's got his business head on.
James Anderson is just loosening up. Kane Williamson has taken guard as the strains of Jerusalem echo around the Basin Reserve.
"Play" say the umpires.
The players are just making their way out on to the field.
A reminder Kane Williamson is unbeaten on 25 while Henry Nicholls is 18 not out.

Personally I wouldn't have enforced the follow-on but Ben Stokes wants to do it differently. England were always going to have to bat again on this wicket, so now they are doing it with more pressure than less pressure. I always had a fear it could go wrong. That's my negative way of thinking rather than what Ben Stokes thinks! No problem with it, just hard graft for the quicks.
Ollie Pope, speaking to BT Sport before play, said: "New Zealand played really nicely on day three. Although we thought we bowled pretty well. I thought we were positive and it was nice to be challenged.
"I think when you have a bowler who puts you in the game it's fun fielding under the lid. You just have to expect every ball. I was a bit annoyed I missed a chance from Henry Nicholls off Jack Leach's bowling. Of course, I was buzzing to take the one to get Daryl Mitchell the other day.
"There's plenty there for the seamers, we just need to find the edges. If New Zealand come out and be positive, knowing they need to get a win, that will play a part. The wicket looks good and it will not change too much when we chase."
The weather looks ideal for batting at the Basin Reserve. The sun is cracking the flags, blue skies with just a few wisps of white cloud. Might be the odd shower, but we are looking at a full day of play.
Sunday, blooming Sunday. You've got to read all the papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car...
Well, whatever you have been doing with your day today we have a nice helping of cricket for you to enjoy this evening.
Welcome to our live text commentary of day four of the second Test from the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
