I think we might be about to see some more cricket which is a very exciting prospect...
While we are waiting, here is the only wicket to fall so far.
The delay continues. It seems to be an issue with a cable by the stump mic. There's four members of groundstaff taking a look with the umpires watching on.
No rush, guys.
Alice Capsey and Lauren Bell might be on the field at the moment but they've just been snapped up for approximately £75,000 and £30,000 in the Women's Premier League auction.
There was a battle between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians for Capsey but Capitals end up securing her signature.
Bell will be joining up with England head coach Jon Lewis at UP Warriorz.
Mumbai Indians, who will be coached by Charlotte Edwards, have also secured Issy Wong for near £30,000.
They join Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sophia Dunkley, who secured contracts this morning.
While we are all waiting we can bring you an update from the Women's Premier League auction...
Not another snake...

That pesky cable is at it again so we have another delay...
It is close, but Orla Prendergast had made it home in time.

This could be closer than we think.
Is Orla Prendergast in trouble here? It is a brilliant throw by Katherine Sciver-Brunt and the umpire sends it upstairs for a closer look.
Change of bowling. Sarah Glenn comes into the attack.

It's been a good start for Ireland, they've put pressure on the England bowlers with regular boundaries.

Thrashed away through the covers. Goodness, what a shot that is. Orla Prendergast showing what she's all about.
Orla Prendergast is the new batter and has smashed her second delivery through the covers for four!
What a shot that was, creamed right off the middle of the bat.

That was the wicket that England desperately needed. Very well bowled by Charlie Dean. Good catch by Sophia Dunkley in the deep; it's not easy to catch out of this bright blue sky.
Hunter c Dunkley b Dean 15 (Ire 35-1)
Breakthrough! England needed that.
Amy Hunter looks to go big again but does not have enough on it to clear the rope at deep mid-wicket and Sophia Dunkley takes a smart catch.

Very bright start for Ireland. Both batters going along nicely. They've got their plans are and executing them well. So far England have not been able to come up with a response.

That's a very impressive shot from Gaby Lewis, not the easiest to play. After that lengthy delay, the first ball gets smashed for four.
Gaby Lewis cracks the first ball after the break from Sophie Ecclestone away for four!
Later in the over Amy Hunter looks to launch it over the top but the ball plugs just short of the rope and Ireland run two.
Ireland's fine start continues.
Ok, the offending snake/cable has been dealt with and we can get on with the game.
