    Glamorgan 404 v Glos 165 & 311-4

It's been a day of toil for Glamorgan but they've finally found a bit of joy with a couple of wickets.

Marcus Harris excellent innings ended on 148 when he mis-timed a reverse sweep to be out lbw to Kiran Carlsen.

That shot would likely have brought up his 150 and after getting almost everything right today, he misjudged that one.

Miles Hammond then followed him into the changing rooms a few overs later after being bowled for 58 by Dan Douthwaite.

  2. Postpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Another one!

Essex are clearly in no mood to hang around with a devastating opening salvo which has seen both Middlesex openers depart already!

  4. Five-wicket haul for Matt Parkinsonpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Lancashire 291 v Surrey 442 & 227-6

    Five for the leggie!!

Matt Parkinson removes Cameron Steel for his fifth scalp of the innings.

A bit of luck about it, as Steel tries to hit across the line but the ball squirms under him and rolls onto the stumps and the bails are dislodged.

    Middlesex 170 & 1-1 v Essex 266 & 211 (Middlesex require 307 to win)

    Very early breakthrough for Essex!

Mark Stoneman lasted only three balls before Jamie Porter trapped him lbw and he looks up to see the umpire's finger raised.

Great start for Essex - while Middlesex's run chase couldn't have got off to a worse start!

    Glamorgan 404 v Glos 165 & 288-2

Miles Hammond salutes the crowd as he reaches his half-century.

We asked if Glamorgan could change the momentum in this evening session after being second best all day - but there's no sign of it - they have not been able to get anything going today.

Marcus Harris is on 144 and Chris Dent earlier got 78 as the runs have flowed easily for Glos.

    Sussex 335 & 30-1 v Durham 376 & 189

That's the best way to slow up the scoring rate!

Brydon Carse strikes with his first ball as Ali Orr falls into the trap, caught at deep fine leg as he takes on a short ball.

Simple catch for Michael Jones and a welcome breakthrough for Durham.

  8. 50 runs

for Ben Foakespublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Lancashire 291 v Surrey 442 & 198-5

A second 50 of the match for Ben Foakes. This one is off 57 deliveries.

Watchful and careful in the first innings. Attacking in the second - the sign of a good cricketer, reading the situation.

A further reminder to England of his quality.

Utter confusion as the scoreboard operators finger the wrong man.
