They needed 368 to do that - and tfheir ninth-wicket pair of Chris Wright have sailed past it.

The 37-year-old former Middlesex, Essex and Warwickshire paceman has always been one of the handier tailenders down the years, with 13 previous first-class half-centuries to his name. Can he nail down another one?

A first 50 of the summer for the Surrey captain.

He has taken 92 balls and hit four fours in what is a nice scenario for batting.

  15. Bears batters plough on at Tauntonpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 8 April 2023

    Somerset 284, Warwickshire 166-2 (39 overs)

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Alex Davies and Sam Hain are continuing to make largely untroubled progress against some lacklustre Somerset bowling with a distinct hint of rust about it.

Not even the stentorian encouragement of Somerset's most famous supporter, the legendary Tractor Driver, has been enough to lift the body language in the field. Worrying.
