    Durham 425-9 dec v Worcs 221-4

Attritional stuff at Chester-le-Street as Worcestershire pick away at Durham's 425. There's left-arm spin in the shape of Matthew Kuhnemann but Jack Haynes is looking comfortable as he passes 60.

  2. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 453-4 dec v Kent 0-0

Zak Crawley and Ben Compton stride out to begin the Kent reply.

Chris Woakes is stood at his mark with the ball in his hand.

    Best of luck, lads.

Jordan Hart: Personally think it’s time for Lancashire to move on from Croft and Vilas. Both been great servants but nowhere near the best to help us challenge for titles. Needed some new signings from these shores to add strength in the middle order.

    Middleton b Worrall 15 (Surrey 270 v Hampshire 254 & 28-1)

An encouraging start for Hampshire comes to an end.

Fletcha Middleton cracked his second boundary through the covers from a full, wide delivery from Dan Worrall.

Worrall has the perfect response a couple of balls later as he angles one in, produces loads of late movement and sends Middleton's off-stump cartwheeling away.

Nick Gubbins is in at three, having made two in the first innings.

  5. Declaration by Warwickshirepublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 453-4 dec

There you go then. Warwickshire have declared after securing that final bonus point.

Sam Hain finishes unbeaten on 165 with Michael Burgess finishing with 20 not out from 17 balls.

There are 64 overs left today and the prospect of a full day tomorrow too.

Kent will hope the batting surface is as good as Warwickshire have made it look.

  6. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Northants 198 v Middlesex 149 & 10-0

Sam Robson playing a little more fluently than his Middlesex opening partner Mark Stoneman and has all 10 of their runs at Wantage Road as they look to chip away at Northants' first-innings lead.

  7. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 451-4 v Kent

Michael Burgess sweeps Joe Denly for six over deep square leg, narrowly avoiding Kent bowling coach Simon Cook who is strolling around the perimeter.

The final batting bonus is in the bag. Kent are trying to slow the hosts down, knowing they are staring down the barrel of batting for 150+ overs to save the game.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Vilas c Porter b Bracewell 13 (Essex 219 v Lancs 207 & 111-4)

A soft dismissal as Dane Vilas is through the shot too early and tamely spoons Doug Bracewell to Jamie Porter at mid-on. The Lancashire man trudges his feet as he walks to the pavilion.

    Notts 256 v Somerset 161-9

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset's bowlers are yet again bailing out their batters, with Josh Davey leading the way.

At 87-8, with the ball seaming and swinging all over the place, it looked all over for the follow on. But Davey had other ideas, batting with the sort of composed aggression from which some of his supposed batting betters could learn a lot.

For Notts, Stuart Broad has been rather eclipsed by the less heralded Brett Hutton, who bowled a superb spell, to record his best figures for since he joined Notts from Northants.

    Essex 219 v Lancs 207 & 111-3

The fleeces and jumpers are coming off among the crowd at Chelmsford as the sun bursts through the clouds to bathe the County Ground.

Netherlands international Shane Snater, with blonde streaks in his hair, is bounding in for Essex. His medium pace is not quick enough to really trouble Keaton Jennings but the Lancs captain is quite fortunate when a top edge flies over first slip for four.

  11. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Surrey 270 v Hampshire 254 & 8-0

Kemar Roach and Dan Worrall are pounding in at The Oval but Hampshire openers Felix Organ and Fletcha Middleton are inching towards parity in the match.

The conditions on Thursday morning looked slightly more beneficial to the quicks than those out there right now, as well as they both bowled to reduce the visitors to 39-4.

  12. 150 runs

for Hainpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 419-4 v Kent

Sam Hain cuts Joe Denly, joining Jack Leaning in a double-spin attack, into the offside to reach 150.

He's hit 12 fours in his 258 ball stay.

There are more for him here too.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Mousley c sub b Leaning 94 (Warwickshire 414-4)

Jack Leaning is brought into the Kent attack to try and stem the flow and he has Dan Mousley caught in the deep six runs shy of his maiden century.

Mousley is 21-years-old. He faced 93 balls, hit four of them for six and another seven fours.

    Remember the name.

Michael Burgess is promoted up the order to join Sam Hain.

  14. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 404-3 v Kent

Dan Mousley produces a scoop off Conor McKerr over the wicketkeeper's head for six to bring up the 400 and reach 92 not out.

More IPL than soggy Edgbaston in April but just shows his immense potential. He's only played nine first-class matches.

  15. 50 runs

for Jenningspublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Essex 219 v Lancs 207 & 101-3

Runscoring has looked tricky in Chelmsford so far in the little play we have had at the County Ground today, but Keaton Jennings has notched his second half-century of the season. The Lancashire skipper brought it up off 96 balls with a neat flick off his pads from the bowling of Doug Bracewell. Patient stuff from the 30-year-old left-hander.

  16. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Notts 256 v Soms 161-9

    It's lunch - at last!

The extra half-hour didn't pay off and Somerset go back into the hutch with nine down.

  17. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Surrey 270 v Hampshire 254 & 0-0

Felix Organ and Fletcha Middleton head to the middle at The Oval, trailing by 16.

Hampshire were 39-4 and 88-5 on the first morning... they'll be hoping to avoid a similarly catastrophic start after forcing their way right back into this contest.

  18. Postpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 394-3 v Kent

Kent have had a long to plot their plans and schemes for the resumption, but some loose bowling from Conor McKerr and Michael Hogan will be frustrating skipper Sam Billings and coach Matt Walker.

The Bears have 11 overs in which to chase the final two batting bonus points and 70-plus overs left on day three to play with. How hard do they go and for how long?

  19. 50 runs

50 for Daveypublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Notts 256 v Soms 157-9

Josh Davey nudges Patterson-White into the legside for two to reach his half-century off 54 deliveries. Somerset are under 100 behind now after threatening to miss the follow-on earlier.

  20. Postpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Warwickshire 381-3 v Kent

Kent have seven men on the boundary but Dan Mousley has still managed to find a gap off Michael Hogan.

Sam Hain plugged an attempted six over long-on into the soggy grass a couple of yards inside the rope off Conor McKerr to end the first over. Just the two runs there. You'd be livid if you were a golfer.

It's pretty clear what the Warwickshire plan is here...
