    Gibbon c Robinson b Potts 0 (Durham v Worcs 166-9, target 314)

    Two in two!

It's the exact same dismissal too - a hint of seam away from Ben Gibbon and a faint edge into the gloves of Ollie Robinson.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 16 April 2023

    D'Oliveira c Robinson b Potts 42 (Durham v Worcs 166-8, target 314)

Matty Potts makes the breakthrough for Durham!

Brett D'Oliveira has to go, feathering one through to Ollie Robinson.

    Warwickshire v Kent 250-8, trailing by 45 following-on

Conor McKerr has survived 68 balls. The last of which from Chris Woakes he left to watch fly an inch or so over his bails.

Under 17 overs remaining, the deficit of 45 is largely moot. The game could be over in two balls. Not sure weather or light will come to Kent's rescue here.

SURREY BEAT HANTSpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 16 April 2023

    Surrey (270 & 247-1) beat Hampshire (254 & 258) by nine wickets

    Ollie PopeImage source, Getty Images

In the end that is a very convincing win. Surrey eased through the gears when they needed to after tea and cruised home to fire a warning shot to those who seek to dethrone them.

After his first-innings 91 Ollie Pope finished unbeaten on 122 after clubbing two towering sixes over the umpire's head off Felix Organ to seal it, while on his return to The Oval Dom Sibley registered 79 not out.

Hampshire more than played their part in the first three-and-a-half days but they return to the south coast after a humbling final afternoon.

    Surrey 218-1 v Hampshire, target 243

An inevitability. His 17th first-class century. From 93 balls with 13 fours.

He's combined some sublime with some ridiculous and a smattering of the ordinary stuff you have to do too. A treat for the healthy Oval crowd who have come in to witness this chase. That Oval average of his is creeping back up towards three figures too. Special player.

    Warwickshire v Kent 247-8, trailing by 48 following-on

The new ball has arrived for Warwickshire. Kent's fun might be at an end. Into the final 20 overs of the match.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 16 April 2023

    Westley lbw b De Grandhomme 43 (Essex 101-4 v Lancs, target 340)

Another one keeps low at Chelmsford, but was it sliding down the leg-side?

Colin de Grandhomme makes use of the up-and-down nature of this pitch, and Tom Westley can't jam his bat down in time.

Looks a bit leg-sidish to me...

Adam Rossington, who is carrying an injury, joins Matt Critchley.

  8. 50 runs

for Wayne Madsenpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 16 April 2023

    Leics 451-9 dec v Derbys 116-2

Last year's leading Division Two run-scorer Wayne Madsen continues to look in fine touch this season.

He just brought up his second half-century in three innings.

Leicestershire are hunting out a third Derbyshire wicket to give them an extra bonus point.

    Surrey 204-1 v Hampshire, target 243

Ollie Pope top-edges a reverse ramp shot but a scampering Ben Brown can't quite take a spectacular catch.

Pope follows it with a delicious reverse sweep to the rope to reach 86. Dom Sibley has 67.

Hampshire battled and clawed their way back into this match until the very final afternoon, when Surrey's class has just been too much.

The result might end up looking like a thumping, it doesn't tell the story, but it will scare the rest of the Division One contenders. And it should.

    Surrey 185-1 v Hampshire, target 243

Sensational from Ollie Pope. He's turned his back to the bowler and helped James Fuller's bouncer over the keeper's head for a straight six, in the wrong direction.

He has 78 from 77. The ask is 55 with 24 overs left.

    Warwickshire v Kent 241-8, trailing by 54 following-on

No news is good news from a Kent perspective.

Conor McKerr has stuck to the task in hand very well so far, picking up 10 runs from 35 deliveries.

Joey Evison has moved to 84. There remain glowering clouds all around Edgbaston but the most threatening thing of all might just be the threat of the new ball in the hands of Chris Woakes, Chris Rushworth and Hassan Ali in six overs time.

    Leicestershire 451-9 dec v Derbyshire 95-2

When I said the captains would be shaking hands around now a few posts ago, I completely forgot Derbyshire are still in their first innings at Grace Road.

So bonus points to play for... probably just for Leicestershire as 250 and a first batting bonus point is a long way off.

It's been a long few days for everyone!

    Leach b Kuhnemann 0 (Durham v Worcs 140-7, target 314)

Another absolute jaffa from Matt Kuhnemann!

Joe Leach looks to play the Aussie spinner from the crease, but it rips past his defensive prod and clips off-stump.

Adam Finch joins Brett D'Oliveira in the middle.

    Surrey 159-1 v Hampshire, target 243

Ollie Pope brings the 150 up by creaming James Fuller through the off side for four, and moves to 64 with a square cut two balls later and then a crisp straight drive.

They've gone up a gear since tea, though they might still only be in third or fourth.

Only 84 needed to win. Surrey have scored 61 since tea. Maybe they have dinner plans?

WICKETpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 16 April 2023

    Waite lbw b Coughlin 21 (Durham v Worcs 137-6, target 314)

Matthew Waite is trapped on his crease by Paul Coughlin, and Worcestershire are six down.

It's a great bit of bowling, pushing Waite back before throwing in a full in-ducker.

Durham move a step closer to victory.

    Surrey 144-1 v Hampshire, target 243

Death, taxes, Ollie Pope half-centuries at The Oval. Absurdly consistent.

    Just the 60 balls required.

100 more required to win from 29 and change. A procession.

The game is drifting towards a draw at Grace Road.

Wayne Madsen (33 not out) and Brooke Guest (19 not out) are in the middle for Derbyshire. Expect the captains to shake hands in about 30 minutes.

    Surrey 134-1 v Hampshire, target 243

Dom Sibley hasn't looked overly comfortable in the opening 40 overs but it feels as though Surrey think this one is in the bag and he's starting to loosen up and show some confidence.

After making 22 from his first 70 balls he picks off Liam Dawson for four in consecutive deliveries in the previous over, aided by a slip in the field by James Fuller, and tucks a single off Kyle Abbott to bring up his half-century from 106 deliveries on his return to The Oval.

James Anderson throws in a bouncer at Matt Critchley, and the Essex man can't get on top of it.

However, the ball just evades the sprawling dive of the fielder at square leg, and Critchley breathes again.

Anderson, keeper George Bell and captain Keaton Jennings all have their heads in their hands.

Ollie Pope cuts away Mohammad Abbas for four and has joined Dom Sibley on 39 not out from half as many deliveries. He's warming up nicely.

As good as Abbas has been over the four days Pope appears to have his number on the final afternoon.
