  4. It's Raine v rain in Cardiffpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 22 April 2023

    Glamorgan 94-5 v Durham 471-9 dec

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Day two was a wash-out and the weather is threatening again this afternoon with an 80% chance of rain. The light is also a factor because they can't use the floodlights for Championship matches this season due to local restrictions.

They have gone off for bad light and I am not sure how much more action we will see today.

Given the weather, Durham have pushed on with the ball, ably led by Ben Raine, who has taken three wickets either side of lunch.

Kiran Carlson had a life when a ball from Brydon Carse struck him on the chest, bounced onto off stump, but failed to dislodge the bails. He was on none at the time and now has 18.

Earlier, Durham declared on 471-9 with five players reaching half centuries, but none treble figures. They did the same thing against Glamorgan in 2021.

    Middlesex 241-9 v Notts 364

A corker of a delivery from James which gets a play and a miss out of Ethan Bamber.

Bamber is back and across to defend thereafter.

Middlesex are hanging on. The new ball is due in three overs.

  6. Hampshire set new club recordpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 22 April 2023

    Northamptonshire 149 & 63 v Hampshire 482-8 dec

We mentioned earlier that Hampshire's victory by an innings and 270 runs was their biggest in the County Championship.

Their previous best was an innings and 213 runs, also against Northants, at Bournemouth in 1935.

Those are their only wins by an innings and more than 200 runs.

Northamptonshire's 63 all out was their third-lowest total against Hampshire, although it was for only nine wickets down with Lewis McManus unable to bat.

Rain was forecast for about 15:00 at Sophia Gardens and dark clouds prompt the umpires to take the players off the field.

It will be very frustrating for Durham who, having endured a blank day on Friday, are well on top in the game following their declaration during the morning session.

Kiran Carlson is 18 not out for Glamorgan and Chris Cooke has four.

    Middlesex 227-8 v Notts 364

The follow on has been avoided but time is the factor here. Much of Sunday's play may very well be lost to rain so this game will largely be decided today.

At the other end, Higgins drives Broad crisply through the off side for a couple and a leg side ball is deflected off the pads for four byes.

Four more pulled away through square leg.

Middlesex gaining a little momentum but they remain a long way behind.
