The sun is now out at Canterbury and it's so far so good for the Kent openers.

Zak Crawley has nine off 24 balls and Ben Compton is on a slightly less pedestrian 12 from 24.

Just another 256 runs for parity.

The two Toms have settled well and eased Somerset to 50 in good time.

Lammonby has 19 from 30 balls and Abell has reached 20 off 25.

    Kent 95 & 4-0 v Hampshire 373

It's looking gloomy out there and the floodlights are on as Zak Crawley takes guard and begins the Kent second innings.

The England opener survives an appeal for caught behind off the second ball and then whips Keith Barker's third ball to the boundary.

Mohammad Abbas will open up to Ben Compton at the other end.

The hosts have a huge job on their hands to save this.

Hampshire are piling on the punishment and lead by 275.

  18. Bess injured in the fieldpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 13 May 2023

Durham 143-3 need another 103 to beat Yorkshire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Dom Bess has had to leave the field after a shot from Durham opener Michael Jones smashed into his knee. He received treatment on the field and tried to bowl the next over but was unable to.

He limped off in a deal of pain and was replaced by George Hill. But that brought about a stroke of luck for Yorkshire as he got David Bedingham with the third ball of the over, for 19. Jonny Bairstow taking a great one-handed catch, low to his right.

This could be over today. There are 23 overs to go and the light is good. We may enter extra half hour territory. However, if Durham lose a couple of quick wickets this game will turn back in the direction of Yorkshire. And it is not known yet if the injured Brydon Carse will be able to bat if needed.

He has not featured today after suffering a side strain yesterday and was due to have a scan to assess the damage.

  19. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 13 May 2023

    Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 1-0

With James Anderson still off the field with an injury picked up on day one, Will Williams opens the bowling to Tom Lammonby.

Twelth man Luke Wood takes Anderson's place in the field.

Somerset lead by 36 and the draw now looks favourite.

    Fuller c Muyeye b Qadri 51 (Kent 95 v Hampshire 360-9)

James Fuller brings up a ninth first-class fifty but falls soon after.

He tries to slog sweep Hamadullah Qadri but Tawanda Muyeye is again in business and takes the catch in the deep.

A great 59-ball knock ends, but not before a third bonus point for Hampshire is brought up.

Muhammad Abbas comes to the crease - Hants want more. The lead is 265.
