  1. Carse out of Durham gamepublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 13 May 2023

    Durham 227 v Yorkshire 254 & 91-3

Durham's hopes of winning this game have suffered a blow. Brydon Carse went off last night with what looked like a side strain and has now been ruled out of the rest of the match.

I understand the England bowler will go for a scan today on what Durham have described as "a trunk injury".

Yorkshire were three down in their second innings when Jonny Bairstow joined Dawid Malan last night and they batted out the final hour and a half under grey skies.

The conditions are much improved today though and the two batters could prove crucial as to which direction this heads because they looked in the mood for a long stay last night.

There's been plenty of chatter about whether or not Jonny Bairstow will come back into the England side with the gloves this summer.

He'll have to displace Ben Foakes who's done a good job for the national side over the past 12 months.

Both men are batting this morning... Bairstow is 16 not out for Yorkshire at Durham, Surrey's Foakes has 22 to him name against Middlesex.

We'll keep a close eye on how they get on.

  5. Anderson injured?published at 10:56 British Summer Time 13 May 2023

    Lancashire 72-2 v Somerset 361

Lancashire and England bowler James Anderson was off the field all day yesterday with something the club described as a "minor issue".

I'm afraid we don't have any more details than that for the moment and with Lancashire batting today we still might not know the extent of any problem for the 40-year-old.
