Anthony Seaman: Are we allowed to mentioned Jake Ball? As in ball of your foot obviously.

More short stuff from Josh Tongue is conservatively played by this Ireland duo.

There'll be one more over before lunch.

At the equivalent stage of the 2019 Test England had just been bowled out!

Without meaning to get this man in trouble, Lord's isn't a bad place to be 'working from home'...

  5. Ire 70-4published at 23.2 overs

Hello! Matthew Potts returns and Lorcan Tucker greets him by wandering down the pitch and clipping Potts for four through mid-wicket.

    That was a lovely shot.

Potts beats him next up with a beauty.

  6. Ire 66-4published at 23 overs

    McCollum 24, Tucker 1

Josh Tongue bangs away, thudding the ball into the middle of the pitch but McCollum shows little interest in playing.

Here's how Jack Leach removed Paul Stirling...

  7. Ire 66-4published at 22.1 overs

Tucker is hit by the first ball of Tongue over. He's fine but we've got a break as the physio comes onto the field.

Even though Ireland are 60-4 they've had decent passages of play.

Josh Tongue is back. It looks like he's going to bowl some short stuff.

  11. Ire 65-4published at 22 overs

Ireland's number six Lorcan Tucker makes his way to the middle much earlier than he'd have hoped.

You may remember he played a big role in England winning a World Cup before Christmas with an innings against Australia.

We've spoke out the captaincy and there was only one out on the leg side and one of the off side and Paul Stirling was looking for the boundary.

There was a little bit of extra bounce for Jack Leach.

It wasn't the right length for the sweep shot. It just bounced up very easily for Jonny Bairstow.

Stirling didn't have any control there.

    Stirling c Bairstow b Leach 30 (Ire 64-4)

Jack Leach wins his battle of minds with Paul Stirling and England have their fourth.

Stirling attempts a sweep but the ball takes his glove and just loops up to Jonny Bairstow behind the stumps.

    Easy as that.

  15. Ire 64-3published at 21 overs

James McCollum has a bit of Kraigg Brathwaite about him when he bats. I hope he wouldn't mind me saying he's not the best on the eye. You get no points for style, of course.

As I write he swishes at thin air to Broad.

As a bowler it gives you so much confidence when your captain is saying 'hold your nerve' and we're going to keep the fielders up.

It means Paul Stirling's demeanour has to change and he's having to block the over out.

It allows Leach to settle into the over and his cricket becomes so much easier.

  17. Ire 64-3published at 20 overs

Paul Stirling, who is more known for his bashing in the T20 format, clobbers another one off Leach. There's no stopping this one.

He has another swing a ball later but that one is a horrible swipe. Stirling is lucky to get away with it.

    It's a test of nerve.

  20. Ire 60-3published at 19 overs

We've just seen a shot of One Direction's Niall Horan watching from the posh seats. It's not the first time he's been seen at the cricket. I wonder what he bowls.

Stuart Broad returns to the attack but cannot find the magic of his first spell. McCollum clunks a pull shot a little but he's got enough on it for four.
