Kent 301 & 197-6 v Surrey 145
Image source, Rex FeaturesA superb bowling performance by Kent during the morning enabled them to seize control against the unbeaten Division One front-runners.
Matt Quinn, Wes Agar and Arshdeep Singh shared eight wickets between them as Surrey were rolled over for just 145, a deficit of 156.
However, Kent declined to enforce the follow-on and half-centuries by Tawanda Muyeye and Daniel Bell-Drummond have enabled them to lead by 353 going into day three, despite a burst of late wickets.
Kent 301 & 183-6 v Surrey 145
Precious runs for Kent, with Hamidullah Qadri steering Dan Worrall to the boundary, but it's largely about trying to keep these four wickets intact going into day three.
Qadri is taking the bulk of the strike and also taking a fair few short deliveries from both Worrall and Sean Abbott as Surrey strive for another wicket or two before the close.
Three overs to go.
Kent 301 & 177-6 v Surrey 145
The shadows are lengthening, but there are still five overs left in this marathon evening session, during which Kent have lost five wickets for 26.
That's potentially opened the door for Surrey, although Joey Evison and Hamidullah Khadri are out there doing their best to extend the lead, which currently stands at 333.

One, as they say, brings two.
It's the one Surrey really wanted as well - Daniel Bell-Drummond nibbling an an outswinger from Dan Worrall, who collects his third wicket as Ben Foakes completes his fourth catch of the innings.
Surrey are scenting blood now and the lead is 329, with just four wickets standing and 6.4 overs left tonight.

And there's one of them!
A short ball from Sean Abbott and Jordan Cox appeared to duck out of the way, but the appeal rang out for a catch behind and the umpire's finger was raised.
Perhaps it might just have flicked a glove on the way through, but Cox looked thoroughly unimpressed as he left the arena, to be replaced by Joey Evison.
Kent 301 & 171-4 v Surrey 145
Having taken three wickets in relatively quick succession, Surrey might just feel they're still in the game if they can winkle out a couple more tonight.
The overall Kent lead is 327, so they're not out of sight beyond the horizon just yet.
Jordan Cox is off the mark, dabbing Dan Worrall through gully for a single and we have eight overs to go.
Sussex 348 v Worcs 410-9
I wonder how Jake Libby will sleep tonight?!
The Worcestershire opener finishes unbeaten on 198.
Sussex fought back superbly after tea reducing the visitors from 366-3 to 395-9 and Worcestershire's first-innings lead will be nowhere near as big as they would have wanted.

The Surrey seamer finishes with a wicket maiden as new man Jordan Cox plays out the final ball of the over. Of which we still have 10 to go...
Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 119-1
Another excellent day on the Lancashire coast.
Lancashire built up a big lead this morning with Phil Salt going to his maiden Championship hundred for the Red Rose, making 103.
Daryl Mitchell then compiled 68 and George Bell 45 to push the lead out to 232.
Felix Organ took a career-best 6-67 for the visitors.
Hampshire lost Joe Weatherly for 12 as they began their second innings but since then Nick Gubbins, with an unbeaten 45, and Fletcha Middleton, 44 not out, have provided excellent resistance to take their side to the close in good health.
Hampshire still have a lot to do to get right back in the game, still 113 behind, but so far this second innings has gone as well as could have been hoped.
Kent 301 & 163-3 v Surrey 145

Bell-Drummond crunches Dan Worrall through the covers for a four to get there from 99 balls as Kent continue building this big lead over Surrey.

Dan Worrall returns to the attack and immediately makes an impact as he persuades Joe Denly to have a swish at a wider delivery, with the ball safely clasped by Ben Foakes behind the stumps.
Jack Leaning, Kent's captain in this game, is out there now alongside Daniel Bell-Drummond.
Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 109-1
Five overs remain at Southport and there's no way through this excellent second-wicket partnership for Lancashire.
The alliance between Nick Gubbins, who has 42, and Fletcha Middleton, 39, is now worth 84 and they are steadily working Hampshire back into the game.
But still a long way to go, 123 behind.
The rain arrived as predicted at Queen's Park in Chesterfield and that'll be the close. Derbyshire walk off on 248-4 having been 17-4 straight after lunch.
Haider Ali (129 not out) and captain Leus du Plooy (96 not out) have taken their side into the lead and given them a remarkable chance of pulling off something special.
It's also stumps between Durham and Glamorgan. Durham are in complete control on 411-5 with David Bedingham unbeaten on 134.
Kent 301 & 147-2 v Surrey 145
With 79 to his name and the Surrey attack posing little threat, it looked as though the stars were aligning for Tawanda Muyeye to register a maiden first-class hundred.
But it's not to be. The Kent opener goes to pull a short one from Gus Atkinson and top-edges it to give Tom Latham a routine catch on the leg side.
In comes Joe Denly to join Daniel Bell-Drummond, with Kent 303 runs to the good overall.
Kent 301 & 145-1 v Surrey 145
Kent are entirely on top against the Division One front-runners, with Tawanda Muyeye and Daniel Bell-Drummond now adding 100 for the second wicket to stretch their advantage above 300.
Bell-Drummond, who brought up the century stand by dispatching Jordan Clark to the cover boundary, is 40 not out, while his partner has 79.
There are still a scheduled 18 overs remaining, incredibly.
Lancs 374 v Hants 142 & 101-1
This is a spirited response from Hampshire having trailed by 232 on first innings.
Nick Gubbins is 37 and Fletcha Middleton 38 and the pair now have another nine overs to see out before the close.
Still very much advantage Lancashire but Hampshire are working their way back into the game.
Essex 462-9 dec & 15-1 v Somerset 167
Well, that tricky seven-over block - which Essex opted to face themselves rather than inflict it on a demoralised Somerset batting line-up - has come to an end.
The home side have advanced their lead to 310 overall for the loss of Nick Browne, with Alastair Cook on nine and Tom Westley on six.
Very much Essex's day after bowling Somerset out for just 167, despite Sean Dickson carrying his bat for 82 and, despite the curious decision not to enforce the follow-on, they'll be firm favourites to force victory at some stage during the next two days.
Durham 402-5 lead Glamorgan by 12 runs

It took Durham 91.2 overs to wipe out Glamorgan's lead of 390 and they have now moved ahead and taken the fourth batting point in the process.
Earlier Ollie Robinson made 102 and now David Bedingham has 128 and Graham Clark 65. They have put on 112 so far. Bedingham also added 171 with Robinson in the afternoon session.
Division Two latest
Derbyshire continue to pile on the runs in their second innings at Queen's Park in Chesterfield.
Haider Ali (129 not out) and Leus du Plooy (96 not out) have put on 231 for the fifth wicket with Derbyshire now on 248-4. They lead Yorkshire by six runs.
Durham have also moved ahead of Glamorgan in their first innings - they're 402-5 in reply to Glamorgan's 390 all out. David Bedingham is unbeaten on 128.
Sussex have picked up a couple of quick wickets against Worcestershire but it's still the Pears in the driving seat on 367-5 with a lead of 19. Jake Libby is still there on 177.
Gloucestershire's tail continues to way against Leicestershire. 361-9 there with Ajeet Singh Dale a couple away from his fifty.
