  1. Division Two latestpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

Derbyshire have dismissed Yorkshire batter Dawid Malan for 106 and Dom Bess went soon after but the visitors are still 219 ahead at Chesterfield on 330-7.

Alex Lees is leading Durham's reply against Glamorgan. The opener is on 49 in their 80-2, but they're still 310 behind.

Worcestershire have just lost their first wicket at Hove. New Zealand paceman Henry Shipley got Gareth Roderick for 30 and the Pears are 52-1 after Sussex made 348.

Ollie Price is fighting a bit of a lone battle for Gloucestershire against Leicestershire. The number three is unbeaten on 60 but his side are 168-6 and in a spot of bother at Bristol.

  2. wicket

WICKET Latham c Muyeye b Quinn 3published at 12:20 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 32-3

Breakthrough for Kent! Tom Latham registers just three on his Surrey debut before clipping Matt Quinn into the hands of midwicket.

The Division One leaders are under some pressure now at Canterbury as Jamie Smith emerges to join Dom Sibley.

  3. wicket

    WICKET S Cook c Lammonby b Bashir 2published at 12:19 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 430-9 v Somerset

A big moment for Shoaib Bashir - his maiden first-class wicket to leave Essex nine down.

The 19-year-old spinner, who was smashed for six by Feroze Khushi earlier in the over, tempts Sam Cook to follow suit and this time the catch is taken at long-on.

  4. wicket

WICKET Salt c Vince b Organ 103published at 12:13 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 199-3 v Hants 142

As Kevan James told us, it could be a long day in the field for Hampshire - unless they can strike this morning.

Phil Salt is their second wicket in four overs as he presses at a pretty innocuous delivery from Felix Organ and nicks to slip.

Organ strikes in his first over.

Salt was playing a little across it and that's perhaps why it found the edge.

Relief for Hampshire but still a lot of work to do.

And Daryl Mitchell comes out and strikes his first two balls for four and the third for six!

  5. wicket

WICKET Buttleman c Lammonby b Davey 17published at 12:12 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 419-8 v Somerset

Essex have belatedly begun to get a move on, but they've lost another wicket now as Will Buttleman throws the kitchen sink at Josh Davey and skies to backward point.

Tom Lammonby judges the catch nicely and that brings Sam Cook to the middle to try and help Feroze Khushi nudge the total up towards 450.

  6. Postpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 25-2

Slow start by Surrey this morning, with Dom Sibley registering just a single until just now, when he clipped Wes Agar off his hips for three.

Arshdeep Singh has been extremely consistent at the other end for Kent - the India seamer conceding just two extras in his five overs so far.

  7. 100 runs

for Phil Saltpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 197-2 v Hants 142

Phil Salt gets to his first Championship century for Lancashire! In his eighth game for the Red Rose.

It's only his fifth first-class hundred, which seems skinny for his talent, and first since May 2019 - 18 games ago.

132 balls, 14 fours here and he's led his side into a commanding position at Southport.

  8. 400 up for Essexpublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 400-7 v Somerset

Essex have reached the 400 landmark, but not in time for that fourth batting bonus point and they'll be wondering just how that happened after starting the day on 360-4.

Four byes in the 110th over, bowled by debutant leg-spinner Shoaib Bashir, were not enough to take them to that target, with Feroze Khushi and Will Buttleman unable to score the eight runs they needed.

  9. wicket

WICKET Bohannon c Dawson b Abbott 39published at 11:55 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 189-2 v Notts 142

Two awkward squirty drives from Josh Bohannon against Mohammad Abbas suggested he wasn't completely comfortable.

And he now presses a long way outside off to defend Kyle Abbott and nicks low to second slip.

A sharp catch by Liam Dawson with two hands diving to his right.

  10. 100 runs

for Dawid Malanpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Derbyshire 111 v Yorkshire 315-5

Yorkshire and England batter Dawid Malan goes to a fine century off just 130 balls at Chesterfield.

It's an innings that has contained 15 fours and a six and has put the visitors in complete control.

    First-class century number 30 for the left-hander.

  11. 400 up for Warwickshirepublished at 11:49 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 403-6

A fourth batting point secured for the Bears as Michael Burgess takes Dane Patterson for his second boundary.

Only three more overs to go in bonus point time, so that's probably that for both side's extra points.

Ed Barnard and Burgess to try and take the visitors deep into the morning session.

  12. wicket

WICKET Harmer c Rew b Aldridge 17published at 11:48 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 389-7 v Somerset

Kasey Aldridge has his second wicket of the innings... he gets Simon Harmer to nibble at one outside off stump and James Rew completes the job behind the stumps.

Essex are suddenly in danger of missing out on that fourth batting bonus point - they need 11 more runs from the next 10 deliveries.

  13. Play starts at Canterburypublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 18-2

Better late than never... the second day's play is finally under way at Canterbury and it's Tom Latham's first stint at the crease in Surrey colours.

The New Zealand left-hander has come out to join Dom Sibley and plays out two dot balls from Wes Agar, which completes the wicket maiden he began last night.

  14. 'Could be a long day for Hampshire bowlers'published at 11:40 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 174-1 v Hants 142

    Kevan James
Former Middlesex & Hampshire cricketer on BBC Radio Solent

This could be a long day for Hampshire’s bowlers. They have to take wickets otherwise the home side are going to have a big lead when Hampshire bat a second time.

Phil Salt who batted very well yesterday (he was dropped in the slips on four) hasn’t been so composed this morning.

He’s played andmissed a few times already outside off stump, mainly to Keith Barker whose been angling the ball across him.

  15. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 375-6 v Somerset

Seven overs remaining for further bonus points to be claimed. Somerset now have two, courtesy of those two early wickets, while Essex will be eyeing a fourth batting point.

But the home side have been somewhat pegged back by Craig Overton and Matt Henry - with the latter reeling off a string of maidens. Feroze Khushi and Simon Harmer have scored six apiece.

  16. Division Two latestpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

Worcestershire have finally bowled Sussex out for 348, Ben Gibbon getting Jack Carson caught behind for an excellent 64. Sussex were 142-6 at one point yesterday, so that's a fine recovery by the hosts at Hove.

Glamorgan have removed Durham nightwatchman Stanley McAlindon to leave them 22-1, replying to Glamorgan's first-innings 390 all out.

Leicestershire are enjoying a good morning so far at Gloucestershire. They've taken another couple of wickets to leave their opponents 118-5 - Chris Wright has both of them.

And Yorkshire's lead is approaching 200 at Chesterfield against Derbyshire. They're 297-5 and leading by 186. Dawid Malan is unbeaten on 88.

  17. wicket

    WICKET Briggs c & b Ball 20published at 11:21 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 382-6

But Notts also have the chance to respond after a largely tiring day yesterday.

They've quickly removed Danny Briggs who drives firmly back at Jake Ball who reacts quickly to take a sharp return catch by his right shoulder.

Ball's third wicket and a second bowling point for Notts.

  18. Pitch inspection at Canterburypublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 18-2

Umpires James Middlebrook and Russell Warren have taken a butcher's at the pitch after that earlier downpour and we should be under way at 11.45, assuming there's no further rain.

  19. Postpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 382-5

It was a nice solid day's batting yesterday for Warwickshire after winning the toss.

Sam Hain's 100 led the way and they're back this morning with the chance to bat Notts out of the game.

First task is a fourth batting point and then with 10 more overs to come in bonus point period, the maximum haul isn't out of the question.

But building another solid stand and taking their side over 500 will be the Bears' main focus.

  20. wicket

WICKET Critchley run out 121published at 11:12 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 366-6 v Somerset

Superb fielding from Sean Dickson and Somerset have a second wicket of the morning!

Feroze Khushi's drive through point looked as though it might reach the fence, but Dickson had other ideas, cutting the ball off and hurling to the bowler's end where Matt Critchley was run out going for the fourth run.

Critchley looks furious as he stalks off, knowing he's missed a great chance to post 150 for the first time.
