  1. wicket

WICKET Bartlett lbw b Porter 4published at 13:35 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 10-3

    Blink and you missed it...

The players went off five minutes early because of that downpour, so they returned ahead of schedule too, with one ball remaining in Jamie Porter's second over.

He used it wisely by pinning George Bartlett in front of his stumps! Somerset continue to crumble and Porter's taken all three wickets so far.

  2. 'Good morning for Pears'published at 13:21 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Sussex 348 v Worcs 94-1

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A good morning for the visitors picking up the final Sussex wicket for the addition of just 10 runs, and making a very positive reply.

Joe Leach finished with 6-76 but the Sussex seamers haven’t extracted the same movement off the pitch and the Worcestershire top order have played very positively, with Jake Libby particularly severe on anything over pitched.

  3. 'Somerset top-order frailties on show'published at 13:18 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 10-2

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset's top-order frailties have been on show again at Chelmsford as they surrendered two wickets in the first over of their reply to Essex's 462 - Tom Lammonby top-edging an ambitious pull shot and Tom Abell caught by a juggling Simon Harmer in the slips.

It made for a distinctly downbeat end to a morning which had started brightly, with Craig Overton bowling the nightwatchman Ben Allison and an arrow-like throw from Sean Dickson in the deep running out Matt Critchley.

Essex ought to be kicking themselves for missing out on a fourth batting point after needing only 40 runs from 14 overs at the start, but the declaration, half an hour before lunch has proved well-timed.

WICKET AND LUNCHpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 260-5 (Jones c Crane b Organ 18) v Hants 142

A third wicket for Felix Organ to end the session.

Rob Jones tries to work with the spin but chips a catch to square leg.

The visitors have struck four times this morning to keep themselves just about in the game.

But with plenty of turn evident, this lead could already be a match-winning one for Lancashire.

  6. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 524-7

    An outstanding morning for Warwickshire.

They were aiming to kick on to a huge score and that's just what they've done.

Michael Burgess goes to a 76-ball fifty with seven fours in the over before the break.

But Hasan Ali has stolen the show at the other end.

    Five sixes in a 35-ball half-century!

Such great hitting. Anymore and the Bears will be completely out of sight.

  7. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 60-6

A truncated morning session - and Kent will certainly feel it wasn't long enough for their liking, having taken a wrecking ball to this Surrey batting line-up.

Matt Quinn has taken three wickets, with Arshdeep Singh claiming the scalp of Ben Foakes and, despite an expensive over from Hamidullah Qadri just before the interval, Surrey are deep in trouble.

The champions and league leaders still trail by 241 with just four wickets standing.

  8. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 10-2

It never rains but it pours... we've seen a flood of wickets at Chelmsford this morning, but now we're seeing actual rain as well.

Somerset will be relieved, having lost two wickets in the first over. Sean Dickson and George Bartlett have guided them to 10-2 with one ball remaining of the third.

Now they'll take a slightly early lunch and aim to regroup, replying to Essex's 462-9 declared.

  9. Yorkshire all outpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Derbyshire 111 v Yorkshire 353

That's a good fightback by Derbyshire this morning.

Spinner Mark Watt gets last man Matt Fisher to finish with 5-83.

Yorkshire looked set for a much bigger first-innings score when they were 325-5, but Dawid Malan's dismissal for 106 saw them lose their last five wickets for 28.

Now the bad news for Derbyshire fans... the deficit is 242. They'll try and chip into that after lunch.

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 2-2

Jamie Porter celebrates wicketImage source, Rex Features

What an opening over for Jamie Porter!

The Essex seamer has two wickets and Somerset are reeling.

Visiting skipper Tom Abell has also departed for a duck, snapped up at second slip by the reliable Simon Harmer.

  11. 500 up for Warwickshirepublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 501-7

My days, what hitting from Hasan Ali.

He's slog swept first Calvin Harrison and then Steven Mullaney for six over midwicket.

Then he simply clears the front leg and has a village green heave at Mullaney and nails him into the bleachers again!

    He's got 40 from 29 balls.

  12. wicket

WICKET Lammonby c Allison b Porter 0published at 12:48 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 2-1

Not the start Somerset wanted in this pre-lunch session as Tom Lammonby goes to play Jamie Porter on the leg side and ends up top-edging to cover, where Ben Allison clings on running back.

  13. 50 runs

for Alex Leespublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Durham 100-3 v Glamorgan 390

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees has just reached his third half-century of the season. He's played some nice shots today and has taken on spinner Andrew Salter, hitting him for 10 in two balls.

He's also put on 62 with Scott Borthwick, who has just clipped a ball from Timm van der Gugten to Zain ul-Hassan on 22. He was lucky to still be out in the middle. He should have been run out on eight, but while stranded yards from his crease, Salter missed an open goal.

It is a hot day in Chester-le-Street and looks a good day for batting, but Durham need to dig in here because they have a long way to go to get back into this one with the bat.

Michael Jones was out earlier for eight, clipping James Harris' second ball to Sam Northeast at second slip. The fielder took a sharp, high chance.

  14. wicket

WICKET Smith c Muyeye b Quinn 6published at 12:43 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 42-6

Matt Quinn (Kent)Image source, Rex Features

Another for Matt Quinn! He's got three now as Jamie Smith clips one to midwicket.

It's been quite a session for Kent...

  15. wicket

WICKET Foakes lbw b Arshdeep 3published at 12:39 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 42-5

Here's a phrase we don't use very often... Surrey are collapsing!

Kent are completely on top this morning and Arshdeep Singh has just picked up a richly deserved first wicket of the innings, swinging the ball across Ben Foakes to trap him leg before.

Will Jacks is the new man at the crease.

  16. wicket

WICKET Barnard b Harrison 41published at 12:38 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 445-7

    Whoops.

Ed Barnard aims a premeditated reverse sweep at Calvin Harrison, misses and loses his leg stump.

Stand of 63 is broken but Hasan Ali has arrived to belt 31 in just 19 balls and the Bears are very quickly looking at 500.

  17. Declaration by Essexpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset

Essex are clearly eager to have a go at Somerset's openers before lunch - they've just declared.

Feroze Khushi finishes on 56 not out, with Josh davey taking three wickets for Somerset and Craig Overton and Kasey Aldridge two apiece.

  18. wicket

WICKET Vilas b Organ 6published at 12:38 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 230-4 v Hants 142

A third wicket of the morning for Hampshire - and a second for off spinner Felix Organ.

Big turn from outside off beats Dane Vilas' forward press and cleans him up.

    The lead approaching three figures.

  19. wicket

WICKET Sibley c Cox b Quinn 9published at 12:34 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 39-4

Matt Quinn has done it again!

This time the Kent seamer has removed Surrey's own Rock of Gibraltar, Dom Sibley, who flashes outside off stump and is caught behind.

Pressure increases on Surrey, whose first target must be to reach 152 and avoid the possibility of the follow-on.

  20. 50 runs

for Feroze Khushipublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 455-9 v Somerset

Feroze Khushi (Essex)Image source, Rex Features

Feroze Khushi has really opened up since wickets began tumbling at the other end and he's just gone to 50 from 68 balls.

Three sixes included in the Essex batter's half-century, including one that he just lifted over long on from Kasey Aldridge.
