  1. Postpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 136-6

Essex have reverted to a pace and spin combination after tea, with Jamie Porter in tandem with Simon Harmer.

Craig Overton's been in pugnacious mood, cracking Harmer for six out of the ground and he's on 17 not out, with Sean Dickson advancing to 70.

  2. wicket

WICKET Montgomery c Hasan b Rushworth 3published at 16:21 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts 58-4 v Warks 571-9d

Bears have a fourth just after tea!

Disaster for Matt Montgomery who is late trying to pull a Chris Rushworth short ball from outside off and just spoons a catch up to mid-on.

Notts are now in huge trouble and after that steady start have been plunged into a mess, losing 4-7!

  3. 'Worcs in good position'published at 16:13 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Sussex 348 v Worcs 210-3

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A very good session for Worcestershire who are batting themselves into a good position trailing by 138 a couple of overs into the evening session.

Jake Libby has led the way with his 14th first-class century and his fourth in nine matches against Sussex.

He’s timed the ball beautifully with shots all round the wicket and hasn’t given a chance

The pitch has flattened out under the hot sun, but hopefully not as much as the previous game at Hove when Glamorgan scored 732 in the third innings

  4. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 76-0 v Surrey 145

It's fair to say this has been very much Kent's day so far.

Having rolled Surrey over for just 145, they declined to put the visitors in again and instead the aim will be to bat them out of the game.

Ben Compton has taken advantage of being dropped on nought to progress to 17 not out, with Tawanda Muyeye on 20 and Kent lead by 193 overall.

  5. 100 runs

for Robinsonpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Durham 285-4 v Glamorgan 390 - tea, day two

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Ollie Robinson has just notched his second century of the County Championship season. The former Kent keeper has been in fine form this year since his move to the north east and is among the top three batsmen in the division.

He's also put on 166 with David Bedingham this afternoon, as Durham went through the session without loss. Bedingham has 78.

Glamorgan nearly did the same thing yesterday but lost Sam Northeast just before tea, after he'd put on 168 with Kiran Carlson.

It was the introduction of the new ball yesterday which saw Glamorgan lose their final six wickets inside 13 overs. The new ball today though is not due for another 15 overs.

  6. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Somerset 462-9 dec v Somerset 123-6

Simon Harmer's been getting the ball to turn and so did Matt Critchley, who joined him for a solitary over just before the interval.

Essex will be quite content with the way that afternoon session panned out - they collected four Somerset wickets but would have liked to add that of Sean Dickson, who remains undefeated on 66.

  7. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts 54-3 v Warks 571-9d

    A dream session for Warwickshire.

They racked up a giant total and to take three before the break is perhaps above expectations given the conditions.

Notts have lost 3-2 and now desperately need a partnership in the final session of the day.

  8. wicket

WICKET Clarke b Hasan Ali 2published at 15:48 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts 53-3 v Warks 571-9d

Warwickshire strike again with an over to go before tea!

A beauty from Hasan Ali that has clipped Joe Clarke's off bail.

Clarke can't quite believe what has happened.

Hasan perhaps just got that to tail away a fraction.

Or maybe Clarke just got his angles wrong trying to defend from the crease.

  9. wicket

LANCASHIRE ALL OUT AND TEApublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 374 (Blatherwick c sub b Organ 4) v Hants 142

Jack Blatherwick has a smite at Felix Organ and top edges to first slip.

Lancashire all done with a giant lead of 232.

Organ finishes with a career-best 6-67 - just the second time he's taken five in an innings.

A huge task now ahead of Hampshire to set a defendable target - but it might not need too many with the ball turning.

They'll now take tea at Southport with no overs lost for change of innings, so still 40 left in the day.

  10. Elsewhere in Division Twopublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

Derbyshire are counter-attacking wonderfully against Yorkshire. Haider Ali (73 not out) and captain Leus du Plooy (66 not out) have put on 134 in double quick time. Derbyshire are now 151-4 having been 17-4 early in the session.

They still trail by 91 but the prospects of making Yorkshire bat again are much brighter.

Gloucestershire's lower order is fighting against Leicestershire. They're 281-8 with Danny Lamb and Ajeet Singh Dale going well.

David Bedingham and Ollie Robinson have given Durham control of things at Chester-le-Street against Glamorgan.

Robinson is nine away from his century and Bedingham has 67. Durham are 265-4 and trailing by just 125.

  11. 100 runs

for Libbypublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Sussex 348 v Worcs 201-3

Worcestershire opener Jake Libby goes to his second century of the season.

It's an innings which has put his side on top at Hove with the deficit down below 150.

  12. dropped catch

by Surreypublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 11-0 v Surrey 145

It hasn't been a vintage day so far for Surrey - and they've just squandered an opportunity to make inroads in the Kent second innings as well.

Ben Compton, who had yet to score, glanced Sean Abbott to leg slip but Will Jacks put the chance down.

Surrey may come to regret that...

  13. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 & 10-0 v Surrey 145

Solid start to their second innings for Kent, who declined to enforce the follow-on and have extended their advantage by 10 so far.

All 10 of those have been scored by Tawanda Muyeye, who's just pumped Dan Worrall for four on the leg side.

  14. ORGAN ON A HAT-TRICKpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 368-9 (Williams b Organ 0) v Hants 142

Will Williams goes first ball, Felix Organ has five and is now on a hat-trick.

Jack Blatherwick is the number 11 to face the hat-trick ball.

    And survives!

Williams was back on his stumps and simply missed a gently turning ball and had his off stump clipped.

  15. wicket

WICKET Hartley c sub b Organ 5published at 15:30 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 368-8 v Hants 142

A fourth wicket for off spinner Felix Organ.

Tom Hartley tries to slog sweep and gets a big top edge to backward point.

  16. wicket

WICKET Hameed c Burgess b Hasan Ali 28published at 15:28 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts 51-2 v Warks 571-9d

    Both openers now gone!

It's not a great stroke from Haseeb Hameed.

He tries to drive a length ball from Hasan Ali outside off and gets a thin edge behind.

  17. wicket

    WICKET Aldridge c & b Harmer 1published at 15:22 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 102-6

A second wicket for Simon Harmer, who tempts Kasey Aldridge with a flighted half-volley and then takes the return catch to leave Somerset six down.

That brings Craig Overton to the wicket, with the visitors still trailing by a daunting 360.

  18. wicket

WICKET Slater c Yates b Barnard 19published at 15:21 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts 51-1 v Warks 571-9d

    Breakthrough for the Bears!

Ed Barnard is round the wicket on a good length to the left-handed Ben Slater.

He doesn't appear to do much wrong in coming forward to defend but he nicks low to first slip's right boot.

  19. Durham fighting backpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Durham 234-4 v Glamorgan 390

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

David Bedingham and Ollie Robinson have both reached half-centuries in the Chester-le-Street sunshine.

They have also steered Durham out of choppy waters after they lost Alex Lees just before lunch for 62 to leave them on 119-4 at the break.

Their partnership is now 115. It was around this time yesterday Kiran Carlson and Sam Northeast put together a fourth-wicket stand of 168 for Glamorgan so there's a familiar feel to things at the moment.

  20. 50 runs

for Sean Dicksonpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 97-5

Sean Dickson (Somerset)Image source, Rex Features

A first half-century in Somerset colours for Sean Dickson, coming up in 86 balls - and it's one his side desperately need.

Dickson got away with one earlier in the over, slashing Ben Allison over the slips for four and then benefits from a misfield in the covers that allows him to take three runs and reach 50.
