  1. wicket

WICKET Mitchell lbw b Abbott 68published at 15:06 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 336-7 v Hants 142

Four balls later and Daryl Mitchell is gone too!

Big help for Hampshire to try and limit the damage.

Mitchell tries to flick a full ball to leg, misses and looks stone in front.

He lingers mid-pitch to have a brief look at the umpire but surely no question over this decision.

  2. wicket

WICKET Bell lbw b Abbas 45published at 15:02 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 336-6 v Hants 142

It's taken into the second hour of the afternoon but Hampshire have a breakthrough.

George Bell had played nicely and shared 76 with Daryl Mitchell but Mohammad Abbas traps him lbw.

He goes wide on the crease and Bell misses trying to work with the angle and flick to leg.

Struck on the back pad he's dead.

The lead almost over 200 now.

  3. wicket

WICKET Worrall b Arshdeep 12published at 14:59 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 145

It looked as though Dan Moriarty might steer Surrey past the follow-on target, taking three fours in an over off Joey Evison.

But they fall seven short in the end as Dan Worrall takes aim at Arshdeep Singh, misses and the timbers crash behind him.

Kent lead by 156 on first innings, but it looks as though they're going to bat again and give themselves plenty of time to try and bowl the visitors out again.

  4. Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts 29-0 v Warks 571-9d

Steady away here for Notts in the first 10 overs of their reply.

No Ben Duckett who's prepping for the Ashes opener on Friday.

But Haseeb Hameed is still here and he and Ben Slater are trying to see off the new ball and get Notts going.

422 needed to save the follow-on.

  5. wicket

WICKET Rew c Buttleman b Allison 6published at 14:57 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 85-5

That's a beauty from Ben Allison, coming around the wicket to the left-hander - it pitches, seams and takes the edge and James Rew is heading back to the pavilion.

Sean Dickson is still there on 38, but Somerset are a long way behind as Kasey Aldridge emerges to join him.

  6. Elsewhere in Division Two...published at 14:55 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

Derbyshire pair Leus du Plooy and Haider Ali are holding Yorkshire up with a gutsy fifth-wicket stand.

Yorkshire had reduced their opponents to 17-4 in their second innings, but they're now 61-4. However, they still need another 181 to avoid an innings defeat.

Worcestershire are going along nicely against Sussex at Hove. Jake Libby's unbeaten 76 has helped them to 152-2 in reply to Sussex's 348.

Durham are building a good first-innings score at Chester-le-Street. David Bedingham has just reached his fifty and Ollie Robinson is 46 not out with the hosts on 200-4. They're 190 behind Glamorgan.

    We've been here before.

A heavy afternoon shower pops up in the West Country and off scuttle the players.

  8. wicket

WICKET Abbott c Cox b Evison 34published at 14:45 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 125-9

That's a fantastic catch by Jordan Cox, leaping to his right to snap the ball up one-handed as Joey Evison finds the edge.

Sean Abbott was looking good there - he's Surrey's top scorer in this innings with 34 - but now it's up to the visitors' last pair, Dan Worrall and Dan Moriarty, to try and eke out the 27 they still need to avoid following on.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Kohler-Cadmore c Allison b Harmer 32published at 14:37 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 70-4

Whenever Essex need a wicket, Simon Harmer - more often than not - is the man to oblige.

With that said, Tom Kohler-Cadmore will be kicking himself - he took on the spinner, attempting to clear the deep midwicket boundary and misjudged it as the fielder in that vicinity, Ben Allison, races in to scoop up a low catch.

James Rew is the new man in for Somerset.

  10. wicket

WICKET Clark b Evison 25published at 14:32 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 108-8

Surrey's eighth-wicket pair had added 48 - but the stand is over now and Joey Evison is the man who does the trick for Kent, firing one through Jordan Clark's defences to clip the bails.

Still another 44 required for Surrey to avoid the follow-on at Canterbury.

  11. 50 runs

partnership for Dickson and Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 60-3

A small landmark perhaps, but Sean Dickson and Tom Kohler-Cadmore have led Somerset's recovery from dire straits at 10-3.

Dickson has just brought up the 50 partnership, driving Jamie Porter for two on the leg side and he has 25 not out, with Kohler-Cadmore on 29.

  12. 300 runs

up for Lancashirepublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Lancs 304-5 v Hants 142

This has been a great start to the afternoon for Lancashire.

The lead grows past 150 and they now have a second batting point.

New Zealander Daryl Mitchell has got to a half-century in 64 balls with four fours and two sixes.

Young George Bell is alongside him and has lifted Mason Crane for six to reach 31.

The pair have set Lancs up to take the game completely away from Hampshire.

  13. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 82-7

Sean Abbott and Jordan Clark are fighting back for Surrey now - but it says plenty that their partnership of 22 is the highest of the innings so far.

Abbott - who smashed a brilliant T20 hundred against Kent a few weeks ago - has just leg-glanced Wes Agar to the boundary to advance to 13, while Clark is on 10. Still 70 needed to avoid the follow-on.

  14. WARWICKSHIRE DECLAREpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 571-9d

Bears feel they have enough and declare with Michael Burgess 77 not out.

They've built really well with solid contributions all round.

Sam Hain taking the plaudits for his hundred yesterday and Hasan Ali blasting 54 before lunch.

A long road ahead for Notts to try and get back in the game.

  15. wicket

WICKET Rushworth c Hameed b Harrison 20published at 14:05 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 567-9

A little fun from Chris Rushworth as well.

Two smears down the ground for four and two more edged well wide of the solitary slip.

But then he swings Calvin Harrison's leggers to deep cover.

  16. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Essex 462-9 dec v Somerset 38-3

Something of a Somerset counter-attack by Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who's slammed three boundaries to reach 17 not out.

Sean Dickson is alongside him on 15, but the visitors still have a long way to go as they respond to that Essex total of 462-9 declared.

  17. Yorkshire bowlers rampant againpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Derbyshire 111 & 5-3 v Yorkshire 353

Derbyshire's batting card is folding for the second time at Chesterfield.

Ben Coad and Matt Fisher have run through the top order once again with Harry Came, Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen all departing inside five overs.

The hosts are 5-3 and facing a big innings defeat.

  18. wicket

WICKET Ali c Montgomery b Harrison 54published at 13:46 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Notts v Warks 525-8

Blessed relief for Notts that Hasan Ali's onslaught goes no further after lunch.

He tries to swing Calvin Harrison over deep midwicket but doesn't get anywhere near enough club and is well held.

36 balls, three fours and five sixes for Hasan!

  19. wicket

WICKET Jacks b Agar 6published at 13:44 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

    Kent 301 v Surrey 60-7

    Stumps flying!

Well, two of them anyway - uprooted by a snorter from Wes Agar. The Australian now has his third wicket of the innings and Will Jacks is on his way.

Kent have picked up where they left off after lunch...

  20. Postpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 12 June 2023

Play is resuming after lunch in other games now.

    Big afternoon sessions coming up...
