  1. 250 runs

for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 533-5

Brought up with a single off Rob Keogh.

Daniel Bell-Drummond has faced 371 balls across seven hours and has barely played a false shot. He's already moved onto 260* with his 24th and 25th fours.

It's nice to watch someone having the best day of their career. There are a few of those floating around today.

  2. wicket

    WICKET - Bohannon c Foakes b Worrall 33published at 17:39 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Lancashire 274 & 84-2, Surrey 360

A timely wicket for Surrey as they claim a second scalp with Lancashire having wiped out all but two of their 86-run deficit.

Josh Bohannon skies a Dan Worrall bouncer - and England keeper Ben Foakes has to run a long way to take a sprawling catch.

  3. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 235-4 v Nottinghamshire 186

A third dropped catch of the day off his bowling denies Jake Ball a second wicket in three balls.

James Rew gets in a tangle down the leg side and edges to Tom Moores, but the Notts wicketkeeper misjudges the flight and the ball goes through his arms.

Big opportunity. How's your luck, Jake?

  4. wicket

WICKET Hollman lbw b Dawson 2published at 17:35 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 88-7

6-17 for Liam Dawson. He pins Luke Hollman lbw and Middlesex are seven down, still trailing by 331.

Dawson's career best is 7-51. Just going to leave that there...

Toby Roland-Jones is the next in the firing line. More than 14 overs remain tonight.

  5. Postpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 519-5

What have you done since 7pm on Thursday night? Big shop? Night out with friends? Played a match of some kind?

Daniel Bell-Drummond has scored 426 runs in professional cricket, across three innings, in two formats, and been dismissed once.

11 overs remain tonight. The Kent lead is 281.

  6. wicket

    WICKET Kohler-Cadmore c Hameed b Ball 33published at 17:32 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 231-4 v Nottinghamshire 186

After two dropped catches off his bowling today, Jake Ball bends his back once more and has his reward.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore was in attack mode and goes for one big shot too many, aiming a six to the square leg boundary.

Haseeb Hameed takes the ball and pops it up into the air before he steps over the boundary rope before getting back to retrieve the catch. Top work.

  7. Postpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 227-3 v Nottinghamshire 186

The runs are coming freely after tea as George Bartlett (87) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (32) take Somerset's lead past 200.

Jake Ball's 17th over goes for 10 and the Notts attack looks to be toiling on a pitch which has flattened out and lost all of its menace.

A lead of 200 looked unlikely yesterday afternoon when the hosts were skittled for 163. Some turnaround at Taunton.

  8. wicket

WICKET Simpson c Middleton b Dawson 17published at 17:25 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 85-6

Two in three balls and Liam Dawson has 5-17 in his 13th over. A fine catch from Fletcha Middleton flopping forward at short leg sends John SImpson packing.

Josh De Caires picked up a seven-wicket haul earlier... he's the new man in and he might see his figures beaten before stumps, at this rate.

  9. wicket

WICKET Higgins c Brown b Dawson 10published at 17:24 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 85-6

Ryan Higgins is Liam Dawson's latest victim, Dawson finds the edge and Ben Brown takes a sharp catch to his right as the ball rises. Hampshire are rampant.

Luke Hollman is the new batter.

  10. Postpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Essex 457 v Warwickshire 158 and 28-1 (following on)

Huge appeal from the Essex slip cordon but Will Rhodes survives.

Another fine Jamie Porter delivery slides just past Rhodes' outside edge into the gloves of Will Buttleman. The hosts were convinced, the umpire was not.

  11. Lights now on at The Ovalpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Lancashire 274 & 52-1, Surrey 360

After a rather cloudy day at The Oval, it has now got gloomy enough for the lights to come on.

20 overs have been bowled in the Lancashire second innings - and there are still 24 scheduled. But, either way, it is hard to see this one going all the way to seven o’clock again tonight.

  12. wicket

WICKET Cox b Sanderson 41published at 17:11 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 492-5

Jordan Cox had made 41 from 39 balls with a six and five fours but he's back in the hutch. Ben Sanderson senses him drifting across his stumps and sends in a slightly slower full toss which clatters into middle and leg with Cox missing his attempted sweep.

Northants have a breakthrough. That's Sanderson's second wicket, nearly 105 overs after his first.

    Joey Evison joins Daniel Bell-Drummond.

  13. 200 runs

up for Somersetpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 202-3 v Nottinghamshire 186

Tom Kohler-Cadmore (20) and George Bartlett (74) are going along nicely and have taken the lead to 179.

Are they taking the game away from the visitors?

  14. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 492-4

Daniel Bell-Drummond's innings is the biggest in the County Championship this season.

He's just pulled Ben Sanderson for an effortless six over deep square - his first maximum - and moves to 231 not out with a drive through the covers off Rob Keogh for his 22nd four.

He has surpassed Joe Clarke's unbeaten 229 in Notts' draw against Warwickshire at Trent Bridge last month.

DBD and Jordan Cox have put on 106 between them from 106 balls.

    The lead is 255.

  15. 50 runs

The Lancy fifty comes uppublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Lancashire 274 & 52-1, Surrey 360

Lancashire second-wicket partners Luke Wells and Josh Bohannon have survived a further 10 overs at The Oval.

But neither have looked entirely comfortable against Jordan Clark and Sean Abbott so far.

The Red Rose now trail Surrey by only 34.

  16. wicket

WICKET Davies c Browne b Harmer 8published at 17:03 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Essex 457 v Warwickshire 158 and 8-1 (following on)

And another one for Simon Harmer.

Alex Davies comes down the wicket but squeezes a Harmer delivery on to his pads. It balloons up to Nick Browne at short leg for another simple catch.

That's a sixth wicket of the day for the South African and Davies' match is done. As a batsman at least.

  17. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Hampshire 419 v Middlesex 82-4

Liam Dawson thought he had a fourth victim there. He has 3-16 in his 10th over already. Ryan Higgins' blood ran cold as the huge appeal for a caught behind went up but the umpire is unbowed.

Kyle Abbott steams in from the other end and beats John Simpson's outside edge by millimetres.

This is a very uncomfortable session for Middlesex, make no mistake.

  18. Postpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 193-3 v Nottinghamshire 186

Matt Carter is into his 17th over and almost makes a breakthrough.

He prompts a thick edge from George Bartlett which evades the grab of Matt Montgomery at leg slip. It went quickly and would have been some catch.

The lead is now up to a very substantial 170 and Notts' need for a wicket is becoming more and more urgent.

  19. Postpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 462-4

Daniel Bell-Drummond has reached a career-best 210 not out with a straight drive off Jack White. White gets his revenge with a ball which bounces into the batter's midriff after a botched pull shot later in the over. That'll smart.

    The lead is 225.

  20. 450 up for Kentpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 453-4

Maximum bonus points for Kent. Now they'll be plotting how best to make it maximum points from this match.

Jordan Cox hoiks another drag-down from Alex Russell for six over square leg and then wallops the next ball back past the bowler for a straight four to move to 29 from 25 balls.

The lead is 212 and the run rate after 104 overs of this innings is nudging 4.50. How many do you think they need? Let us know using #bbccricket
