WICKET Dickson lbw b Patterson 26published at 12:53 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 41-1 v Nottinghamshire 186

    Spoke too soon!

Sean Dickson thrusts his pad forward to Dane Patterson delivery which nips back and hits it smack in front.

Notts have the breakthrough and Somerset are effectively 18-1 second time around.

Half-centuries for Jacks and Curranpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Lancashire 274, Surrey 203-5

Good effort this from Surrey half-centurions Sam Curran and Will Jacks.

Both have gone past 50, their stand is now worth over 100 - and they currently look unstoppable.

  3. Postpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 36-0 v Nottinghamshire 186

Aside from a few alarms for Tom Lammonby, Somerset have made a solid start and moved back into the lead without loss.

Fellow opener Sean Dickson has raced to 26 off just 32 balls, including a superb pull for six off Brett Hutton.

    They lead by 13 runs.

  4. 100 runs

for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 239-1

Centuries in consecutive innings across two formats in the space of four days. Not sure how often that's happened but it has to take a special player. Daniel Bell-Drummond is certainly that. The Blast's leading run-scorer has his 16th first class ton.

178 balls with 12 fours, the last of them a genuine edge off Luke Procter to take him to three figures. Perhaps his only false shot of the innings.

It also takes Kent into the lead.

  5. 6 runs

Big six from Sam Curranpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Lancashire 274, Surrey 184-5

Sam Curran hits a superb six back over the head of Will Willams for six.

The Surrey deficit is now down under 100 - and the hosts are well on top.

Curran and Will Jacks have already put on 77. They now look likely to not only lead, but build a big lead too.

Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings looks concerned.

  6. wicket

WICKET Davies b Cook 7published at 12:41 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Essex 457 v Warwickshire 18-2

A superb over gets its reward.

Sam Cook induces an outside edge from Alex Davies. Had there been a third slip he would definitely been in business, but it flies instead to the boundary.

Cook then finds Davies' inside edge and then with the final ball of his second over, the Bears opener chops on to his stumps.

Both openers back in the hutch inside four overs - what a start for Essex.

  7. 200 runs

partnership for Kentpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 222-1

... and that man Tawanda Muyeye brings it up with a six off Jack White. An impeccably-timed clip over mid-on. Effortless. He has 123 from 153.

Daniel Bell-Drummond has handed the keys of the innings back to his mate and is relaxing in the passenger seat with 91 from 168.

    Kent trail by 15 runs.

  8. Glamorgan bowlers strike back against Sussexpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Glamorgan 242, Sussex 107-5 (45 overs)

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan’s seamers took control in the first hour as Sussex’s progress stalled badly after being 65-1 overnight.

Tom Alsop was bowled off stump for 27, playing no shot to the consistent Timm van der Gugten, and Jamie McIlroy won an lbw shot against Tom Clark (32) in the next over.

The first run of the day did not come until the 30th ball, and changes of bowling gave Sussex no respite as James Coles, on 6, nicked James Harris’s first ball to slip.

With Oli Carter on the defensive against spinner Mitch Swepson, it took a full hour for the first boundary to come as Dan Ibrahim inside-edged Harris for a fortunate four before perishing just one run later.

  9. wicket

WICKET Yates c Harmer b Porter 5published at 12:34 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Essex 457 v Warwickshire 14-1

    Super start for Essex.

Rob Yates has a great record against Essex, but not today.

Will Porter bowls a good line and makes the Warwicks opener play outside his off stump.

He nicks off to Simon Harmer who takes a lovely low catch at second slip.

  10. wicket

WICKET Barker lbw b De Caires 5published at 12:33 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Hampshire 347-7 v Middlesex

Yesterday morning Josh De Caires had one career wicket, now he's taken a five-wicket haul.

He tempts Keith Barker into playing, and missing, across the line to collect his fifth straight scalp. Not one Barker will wish to watch back. Lovely celebration for the right-arm finger spinner too.

Felix Organ comes on to join James Fuller.

  11. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Essex 457 v Warwickshire 13-0

The Bears have made a quick start as they look to chase down Essex's big first innings total.

Ben Yates and Alex Davies take 12 runs off Will Porter's opening over, but Sam Cook keeps it tight at the other end, inducing an edge off Yates and conceding just a single.

  12. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 11-0 v Nottinghamshire 186

    A charmed life.

Tom Lammonby again edges to third slip, this time off Jake Ball.

It flies to his opening bowling partner Brett Hutton who leans towards second slip and shells a chance he should have taken.

  13. Run-out despair for Graham Clarkpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Durham 517-6 dec v Leicestershire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Graham Clark just missed out on a centuryImage source, Rex Features

Graham Clark is a cracking batsman in white-ball cricket. He was the leading scorer in the country in the One Day Cup two seasons ago.

But his opportunities in red-ball cricket have been severely limited in recent seasons, despite his strong belief that he could still be useful in the first-class game.

So, it was great to see him score a century in a County Championship match at Bristol a few weeks ago.

He was emotional afterwards because he believed his Championship opportunities were over. But new Durham coach Ryan Campbell saw something in him to think he was worth his place in the team and gave him a go.

Today he was heading towards his second century of the season, having added 227 for the fifth wicket with Ollie Robinson and they looked in no danger at all. But he was called through for a risky single and he didn't get there.

Colin Ackermann hit the stumps from the covers and he was run out eight short of that century. Clark looked crestfallen. Robinson looked rather upset too. He'll be buying the pints tonight.

  14. 100 runs

for Tawanda Muyeyepublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 207-1

A maiden century for 22-year-old Tawanda Muyeye. Remember the name. Or change it to Tonwanda.

The Zimbabwe-born opener moved within a run of the milestone with a towering six off a short drag-down from Alex Russell in his previous over but then pulls away Russell to the rope for his 12th four to go with two sixes.

A century from 133 balls. And lovely scenes of celebration too. Pure joy.

He follows it up with another four off Russell to bring up the Kent 200. 14 off the over for him.

  15. Postpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Somerset 163 & 10-0 v Nottinghamshire 186

Brett Hutton was the main man for Notts yesterday as he claimed his fourth five-wicket haul of the season.

And he's quickly into his work second time around, finding the edge of Tom Lammonby early on in his second knock.

Fortunately for the Somerset opener it drops just short of third slip.

    The hosts trail by 13.

  16. wicket

WICKET Dawson c Higgins b De Caires 141published at 12:22 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Hampshire 341-6 v Middlesex

The 247th ball of Liam Dawson's innings is reverse swept off Josh De Caires but straight into the hands of tumbling Ryan Higgins at slip. Dawson doesn't like it, but after the umpires confer he trudges off. An incredible knock in the circumstances.

Keith Barker joins James Fuller in the middle.

  17. ESSEX BOWLED OUT FOR 457published at 12:14 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Cook b Lintott 12 (Essex 457 v Warwickshire)

It's all over as Sam Cook looks to slog sweep Jake Lintott (3-68) but is comprehensively castled.

Essex will be happy with their first knock as Dan Lawrence (152) and Tom Westley (114) laid the foundations for a commanding total.

The pitch still looks nice for the batters, but what effect will 112.1 overs in the field have on the Bears?

    We'll find out very soon.

  18. Postpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Northants 237 v Kent 180-1

Tawanda Muyeye times one perfectly through extra cover off Tom Taylor to find the rope and equal his career best score of 89 in his 22nd innings, which he then passes with a single off Alex Russell in the following over.

    Kent are 57 runs behind.

  19. Division Two round-uppublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

Early wickets in all the Division Two games this morning.

But it took a run-out at Leicester to separate Durham pair Ollie Robinson and Graham Clark.

They had put on 227 and were within 27 of breaking the Durham fifth- wicket partnership record (254, set by David Bedingham Ned Eckersley against Notts two years ago).

From 422-4 overnight, Durham have at least succeeded in geting that final batting point. That is the fourth time this season they secured maximum batting points - and they have now declared on 517-6.

Sussex are catching their breath after the shock of Glamorgan getting rid of both Tom Alsop and Tom Clark inside the first nine balls of the day. They have now also lost James Coles to slump to 86-4.

Yorkshire have maximum batting points as they power on past Gloucestershire at Headingley.

Matthew Revis (60) and Dom Leech (34) are both going well.

Derbyshire, 32-2 overnight, now trail Worcestershire by just over 100, after a decent start to day two, orchestrated by their two South Africans, Wayne Madsen and Leus du Plooy.

  20. wicket

WICKET Buttleman c Yates b Ali 43published at 12:09 British Summer Time 26 June 2023

    Essex 457-9 v Warwickshire

A nice cameo from Will Buttleman comes to an end.

Attempting to add some more quick runs, Buttleman skies a Hassan Ali delivery and Rob Yates holds his nerve to take a steepling catch at third man.

    Jamie Porter joins Sam Cook.
