Curtis Campher is here for a good time not a long time.
A huge booming shot into the on side goes for a six - and there's a brilliant catch in the crowd to boot!

Matthew Potts has bowled some beauties this morning but he very nearly snares an edge with a wild one.
It is short and wide and Curtis Campher has a go, but doesn't get anything on it.
A cry of 'Rooooott' echoes round Lord's.
Yep, here's Joe.

I had a catch-up with Heather Knight yesterday, we had a pizza.
We were talking all things women's Ashes, which starts with a five-day Test and I think it's going to be an absolute belter.
It all starts on Thursday 22 June. Get it in the diary, folks!

Richard Kennedy: It’s nice to have too many in-form batters and bowlers to make selection a headache. I can’t remember the last time the discussions were so much about who to leave out. This must be what it feels like to be Australian!

There's just enough grip there for Jack Leach so they won't mind seeing Curtis Campher playing the slog sweep.

That's a lovely way to get off the mark. He will be very relieved to see that nought disappear from next to his name.
Shot. Curtis Campher finally gets off the mark with a slog-sweep into the on side.
He tries to repeat the trick two balls later but Jack Leach extracts something from the pitch and the ball skews through to Jonny Bairstow.
Oh my, I'm not going to get involved with that particular chat.

Oh, you've opened a can of worms there, Alex!

That's thing with this FA Cup final today. None of the fans are actually from Manchester, are they?
We have had nearly an hour this morning and I think Ireland will be well satisfied with their start.

It's a great shot and I like Tector's intent but look at Stokes there, he's clapping his hands. He's saying to Leach, we don't mind that. Let him try again, he will make the mistake.
Shot. Jack Leach gives it some air and Harry Tector obliges, hammering the ball over mid-on and taking a couple of bounces before going over the rope.
Tector moves to 40.
There was a touch of fortune about England's first wicket of the day, but I'm sure they will take it.

You can see Stokes' impact so much in Jack Leach because he's basically got a second wind in his career. He is a different bowler now because of Stokes' belief in him.

Ben Stokes has got such a good cricket brain and he's not afraid to do something funky with the fields. He reminds me of Shane Warne sometimes because you never know what is coming.

Another cry of anguish from Matthew Potts as he beats the outside edge again.
He bowled well this morning with no reward - so far.
I think that's fair comment, Dave. Test cricket is at its best when there is competitive balance between bat and ball. We did not see that yesterday sadly.

Can I be be controversial please? I thought yesterday was the opposite of entertaining; it was actually quite dull viewing. England coasting at six-plus an over, lots of singles, boundary riders, and relatively few boundaries (given the numerical slaughter), toothless bowling and, apart from the odd six, the crowd was very quiet all day. No animation at all from those of us present. Give me, any time, a 1000-run, 39-wicket Test match win against the Aussies, and the whole crowd and viewing nation on their collective seat edges.

Curtis Campher is the new batter as Jack Leach beings with a wicket maiden.
If you weren't here earlier Cricket Ireland said opener James McCollum is unlikely to bat again this innings after picking up that nasty ankle injury last night, so Ireland are effectively five down.
