I would like to see the Ireland players back in county cricket. It is really limiting their opportunities.
I don't know the rules or the politics, but it would really help develop their players. They need as many chances to play as they can.
This is the wicket of Harry Tector as Harry Brook just about held on.
All eyes on Ben Stokes now. He barely flexed that left knee but looked in obvious pain.
Mark Adair is the new batter as Josh Tongue continues at the other end hunting a debut five-fer.

It is yet another Irish wicket that has fallen to the sweep.
But that doesn't look good for Stokes. I'm sorry, but Ben Stokes' knee is knackered. He is not moving well at all.

Oh, it's been swept straight to the fielder!
Stokes is limping there.
Campher c Stokes b Root 19 (Ireland 162-6)
Another bad ball, another wicket.
Curtis Campher a sweeps a wide one from Joe Root but it goes straight to Ben Stokes at leg slip.
Stokes grimaced and felt his knee after taking that catch. That is very worrying for England.

It's a huge disappointment for Tector, who did all the hard work. He can't believe it.
It's short and wide and he's somehow managed to guide it straight to Harry Brook. That should have gone to the boundary, and you can tell he knows that because he looks gutted.
But it's a very nice innings.
Tector c Brook b Tongue 51 (Ire 162-5)
50 and out. Harry Tector cannot believe it!
It is a pretty rotten delivery from Josh Tongue as well. Short and wide.It should be dispatched to the boundary but Tector fires it straight to Harry Brook at backward point.

He looks a very fine player.

It has been a fine innings. With Ireland's backs firmly against the wall, he gets a huge round of applause for his fight.
Harry Tector drives Matthew Potts down the ground for two to bring up a fine half-century.
Lord's rises in warm applause. That is a great effort given the match situation.
Trail by 194
A single from Harry Tector brings Curtis Campher back on strike.
More fireworks? Sadly no, not yet anyway.
Ireland trail by 194. There is a long way to go but making England bat again would be a huge achievement.

Curtis Campher didn't time that well at all but it's just raced down the slope.
Back-to-back boundaries from Curtis Campher!
The first is a slightly uppish drive but it is never in danger of troubling a fielder as it fizzes through the off-side. He does not quite middle the next delivery but it still has enough to fly through mid-on for four.
Jack Leach is currently off the field by the way. He did not look to be struggling, but he has not reappeared.
Let's hope there isn't an issue. That's all England need with the Ashes around the corner.
Josh Tongue - 3-27 so far - comes into the attack.

Ireland have played nicely in this first hour. I've been impressed with Harry Tector.
They have played the sweep shot very well, nice and aggressive. I've just seen Jack Leach walking off, so I hope that's not a concern.

It makes me feel like a real proper Test Match Special commentator whenever I mention the shipping forecast.
Ooh, is that a drop? Curtis Campher loops one up and the fielder at leg slip just misses with the dive. I think it landed just short.
Here comes the drinks and I think Ireland can be well satisfied with their efforts this morning.

Look at that for a crowd catch! They are absolutely loving it. Even the England team is clapping it!
