    Middlesex 220-3 - target 323 (minimum overs 13)

Four more to Simpson, clipping Procter away to fine leg.

A single off the third ball and Robson can't drive through the infield to reach his century.

He stays on 96 and the required rate from here is 7.9.

  2. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Derbys 245-4 - target 380 (minimum overs 15.1)

Hudson-Prentice is in the attack and bowls leg side to Haider Ali, who plays and misses with a leg glance.

He gets a single off the second ball - and Du Plooy drives into the off side for one more run to move to 93.

There's a pause in play here as the bowler is worried about the footmarks and ground staff are coming on with a box of sand.

WICKET Blatherwick c and b Porter 1published at 17:26 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Lancs 145 & 360-8 v Essex 282 & 292-8 dec

    Five dot balls.

Jack Blatherwick needs to make substantial contact with the next one.

He does make contact but only with a leading edge, sending it back where it came from and Jamie Porter clings onto the catch.

Suddenly Essex are scenting victory. This is gripping stuff.

  4. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Lancs 345 & 360-7 v Essex 282 & 292-8 dec

Jack Blatherwick takes one from the final ball of Sam Cook's over.

Surely better to let Rob Jones take as much of the strike as possible.

  5. Postpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Middlesex 215-3 - target 323

A big shout by Jack White for LBW against Robson but it isn't given.

    Maybe drifting down leg.

The scoring rate has slowed in the last few overs and the required rate is creeping up to eight.

Shot! Glorious straight drive from Robson off White. Four runs - and he's on 96.

  6. 350 up for Leicestershirepublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Glamorgan 403-9 dec v Leicestershire 354-5

Another batting bonus point for the visitors who remain on track for another too.

Louis Kimber and Wiaan Mulder have T20 strike rates and Kimber brings up the 350 with a boundary off Zain ul-Hassan, his third in just 12 balls.

  7. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Derbys 239-4 - target 380 (minimum overs 17)

Du Plooy is in top gear here. He could get very close to 1000 runs for the season here at this rate.

He's back and across to Karvelas, smashing the bowler through mid off for four and gets another four next ball with a top edged sweep over the keeper's head.

Brilliant improvisation - and while he's there, Derbyshire can do this.

He's getting great support from Haider Ali, who closes out the 41st over with his second six, mowed over wide long on.

The 100 partnership for this pair has come in just 91 balls.

  8. 50 runs

for Liam Dawsonpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Somerset 500 v Hampshire 330 & 191-7

This is a vital knock, compiled under immense pressure, with six and seven fielders sometimes crowding around the bat.

He's hit a six and 10 fours, the last of which off Dom Bess took him to the milestone off 115 balls.

Somerset will bowl at least 100 overs today... there need to be a minimum of 16 bowled in the final hour and there had burned through 85 before 17:00 due to their double spin attack.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Hartley c Buttleman b S Cook 17published at 17:18 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Lancs 145 & 359-7 v Essex 282 & 292-8 dec

A twist in the tale at Stanley Park.

Tom Hartley inside edges Sam Cook to the keeper, the ball jagging back off the seam, and Lancashire lose their seventh wicket.

Hartley helped Rob Jones add 65 so he did his job.

Jack Blatherwick is the new batter - he has a 30 odd this season so he knows which end is which.

  10. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Lancs 145 & 358-6 v Essex 282 & 292-8 dec

It seems there may be further power problems at Stanley Park, but they are not affecting Rob Jones.

Back to back fours off Sam Cook are followed by another at the start of Jamie Porter's next over.

Lancashire need 72 off the last 13 to win - 5.54 per over.

  11. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Middlesex 211-3 - target 323

Northants captain Luke Procter has brought himself on to bowl and Keogh is in the danger zone as Simpson tries to hit past him at mid on.

Just two runs come in the over.

Robson is forward to White at the other end, driving with immaculate timing all along the ground but straight to mid on. Maiden.

  12. 6 runs

Derbyshire acceleratepublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Derbys 221-4 - target 380

Derby are a long way back but they haven't given up on this chase.

Karvelas bowls leg side, halfway down the pitch and Haider Ali swings the loose ball over mid wicket for six!

Six more runs are smashed down the ground!

A minimum of 19 overs left and 159 required. Could they?

  13. SURREY DRAW WITH NOTTINGHAMSHIREpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 13 July 2023
    Breaking

    Surrey 355 & 340 v Nottinghamshire 399 & 118-1

Surrey hand the ball to Dom Sibley, Will Young takes a single from his first delivery and the captains decided that enough is enough.

Notts, who were set a target of 297, decide it isn't realistic and Young - who hit a debut century in the first innings - finishes on 25 not out, with skipper Haseeb Hameed unbeaten on 44.

Division One leaders Surrey added 135 to their overnight 205-5 earlier in the day with Will Jacks (60) and Tom Lawes the main contributors.

Brett Hutton was the pick of a Notts attack - further depleted by an injury to Dane Paterson - with 5-91.

  14. wicket

    WICKET Patel b ul-Hassan 179published at 17:08 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Glamorgan 403-9 dec v Leicestershire 331-5

    Rishi PatelImage source, Rex Features

Rishi Patel has gone for 179. What a scalp for Zain ul-Hassan who has his first two wickets in first class cricket today.

The medium pacer has got one to nip back nicely and take the top of off stump with Patel coming forward.

237 balls. 16 fours, five sixes and more than five hours at the crease. A coming of age knock, that.

Louis Kimber joins Wiaan Mulder in the middle.

  15. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Lancs 145 & 341-6 v Essex 282 & 292-8 dec

New ball time - here comes Jamie Porter.

Rob Jones takes a couple before a leg bye brings Tom Hartley onto strike.

Three dots follow - and 86 are needed off 15 overs.

  16. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Middlesex 209-3 - target 323

More frustration for Northants as Robson edges out of the reach of a diving Lewis McManus behind the stumps and the ball goes through third man for four.

    No slips in for Northants.

  17. WORCESTERSHIRE DRAW WITH YORKSHIREpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Worcs 242 & 142-2 v Yorkshire 407

The unbroken 110-run partnership between Jake Libby (61*) and Gareth Roderick (34*) is enough.

The teams shake hands on a draw and head off the field with just an under an hour remaining.

The hosts cling on to secure eight points for the match, with Yorkshire having to settle for 12.

  18. Postpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Middlesex 205-3 - target 323

The acceleration is very much on here as Tom Taylor goes for 13 runs in the 73rd over.

Simpson drives the bowler for four through mid off for four and a pull to square leg brings up 200 in the over.

Robson hooks to square leg for four more.

  19. Postpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Lancs 145 & 341-6 v Essex 282 & 292-8 dec

Essex summon Sam Cook for a new spell.

It costs him nine as a thick edge by Tom Hartley rolls down to third man for four.

    Another 89 needed off 16 - 5.56 per over.

  20. Postpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 13 July 2023

    Derbys 202-4 - target 380

Close call for a run out of Haider Ali who just scrambles back in time.

That's the closest Sussex have come to a wicket in some time.

Four runs from this over. A minimum of 21 left.

The 200 comes in the 37th over.
