England have done well today, so far. They have to have a whole day where they win well. They can't afford to drop off for an hour or so.
Ollie Pope goes down to reverse sweep Nathan Lyon and again Steve Smith anticipates it.
He gets down to stop this one and there is a very brief appeal. Fair enough, it only bounced twice before it got to him...

We’ve got a problem with people stealing our pigs. Only one thing for it. ‘Matthew Hoggard.’

What is James Boiling? (90's Durham spinner). Too niche?
Matt, in Worcester
Don't think you can ever be too niche on this page, Matt.

You usually get a few empty seats after lunch at Lord’s with people mingling behind the stands. Not so much today.
Six runs from the Josh Hazlewood over, with a trio of twos for Ollie Pope.
The pick of them is a push through the covers and the good news for England is that he doesn't seem to be showing an ill effects from that shoulder problem.

This is his 36th or 37th Test match now, he averages 28 for a reason. Crawley's got the kind of game where he should easily average 40, easy. He just seems to give his wicket away.

England's 91 is their highest opening stand in the Ashes since Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook in 2011 at the SCG. This is the 36th Ashes Test since.
Ollie Pope is off the mark first ball, working the ball through the leg side for a single.
It's a really disappointing end to a very promising innings from Zak Crawley. England had been in control since lunch and have offered Australia a way in.
Ollie Pope is in at number three after that shoulder injury that kept him off the field for so long.

That one did spin. It's a terrible shot, he's danced down too early. It just clips the pad but it certainly span. Zak Crawley does what Zak Crawley does, he plays beautifully but then just gives away an easy wicket. That's a gift. Just play sensibly.
Crawley st Carey b Lyon 48 (Eng 91-1)
Stumped down the leg side!
Zak Crawley had batted so nicely but he's given Australia a cheap one here. He comes skipping down the track, the ball turns, flicks his thigh and is well taken by Alex Carey down leg.
The wicketkeeper does the rest and Australia have their breakthrough.

Who did Salman Butt? What did Dale Steyn? Can Shane Bond? Did John Waite? (SA wicketkeeper in 60s) If anyone can, Imran Khan.
From Aaron in Prestwich
England will be very happy with how things have gone so far this afternoon and Zak Crawley has looked in particularly good touch...
Crawley 48, Duckett 38
Short and wide from Josh Hazlewood to end the over and Ben Duckett sends the ball spiralling away over point as he tries to thrash it away.
It could have gone anywhere but it lands safely, they get back for three and that ends a fantastic first hour for England.
Time for drinks.

Zak Crawley has faced 29 balls since lunch and has scored off 20 of them with five boundaries. Ben Duckett has faced 88 balls this series without a leave.
Banged in by Josh Hazlewood and swatted away by Ben Duckett!
Through mid-wicket for four!

You don't get the opportunity to nail a team down that often. They are 80-0, but are they good enough to continue this partnership and go to 150-0?

Faz: Figure this one out: The woman down the road only invited 2 people to her party: Jimmy Anderson.
Rev Aidan Watson: Let's have a spark making competition with these rocks, Andrew! A Flint-off!
Just a couple from the Nathan Lyon over. England are picking their moments carefully against the off-spinner.
More sensible cricket.
