Not much movement at Lord's. The groundstaff are sitting around with covers still firmly in place.

We're 25 minutes from the scheduled close so they're running out of time if they are going to get back out there tonight.

That leads us very nicely into this next clip and some of the best Ashes sledges.

There is never any shortage of chat between the players (and ex-players) during an Ashes series - as we've seen already this summer!

It's all part of the fun...

It has been an extremely disappointing day for England at Lord's. So while we're waiting for a resumption/play to be called off for the day, let's look back on some classic Ashes moments.

First up, it's Jimmy Anderson and Mitchell Johnson and a clip you have to watch whenever it crops up - with bonus chat from the two men themselves...

Let's play a game, what's more intimidating than the Lord's atmosphere... I'll start: Disneyland.

It's not just the main hover cover on now, the outer cover for the bowlers' run-ups are being put on now as well.

With the light as it is, too, this could be it for the day. As ever in these situations, it's a waiting game.

England turned up with great hope this morning. They received plenty of criticism with how they dealt with the short ball. They were good bowling conditions today, but David Warner adjusted well until he got a good one. Usman Khawaja has just held everything together and provided that calm.

What do I know? The umpires haven't just got twitchy, they've called for the covers.

The rain has arrived and the players are heading off. The Australia batters are happier about that than England given the conditions.

It is really, really difficult batting conditions.

There are some rain drops on the TV camera lens and it's very gloomy at Lord's.

No sign of the umpires getting twitchy just yet, though.

  10. Aus 130-2published at 45 overs

Short leg is normally reserved for a specialist or the most junior member of the side but with Ollie Pope - England's specialist struggling with his shoulder, it's Joe Root under the lid!

He can't have one that often in his Test career.

  11. Aus 130-2published at 44.3 overs

Usman Khawaja has shown no interest in attacking the short ball but a bouncer from Josh Tongue follows him and hits the batter on the upper body.

It's a double bowling change. Josh Tongue is on in place of Jimmy Anderson at the Nursery End and the field is set for some short stuff.

Here we go again. Will Australia fall into the same trap they caught England with?

Nathan: Considering they are playing with no openers, no keeper, no spin bowler, no pace bowlers and an all-rounder with one functional leg I think England are doing pretty well!

  15. Aus 130-2published at 44 overs

It is swinging for Ollie Robinson but it's the shorter ball headed down leg that comes closest to bringing a wicket.

Steve Smith's eyes lit up, he tried to launch it over fine leg but almost gloves it behind!

A maiden over ends with another one sliding down leg, close to the bat again and Jonny Bairstow takes it superbly one-handed, diving to his left.

Ollie Robinson is on to replace Stuart Broad at the Pavilion End.

  17. Aus 130-2published at 43 overs

Jimmy Anderson has bowled eight overs in this spell, either side of tea, but he's getting plenty of swing at the moment so Ben Stokes might be tempted to give him another one.

Just a couple of singles from the over but Steve Smith was squared up a touch by an out-swinger.

Stuart Broad has gone straight off at the end of that over. I'm not sure if he has an issue or he's finished his spell and needs a comfort break.

For England's sake, let's hope it's the latter.

  19. Aus 128-2published at 42 overs

    Lead by 219

Another very good over from Stuart Broad sees him beat Steve Smith after going wide on the crease.

There is then another big lbw shout. Steve Smith was a long way across but the ball nipped a long way and was going down leg.

Wise call not to review on this occasion. Maiden.

Marnus Labuschagne has gone now but Stuart Broad knows he should have gone that much sooner!

Broad hit him in front but it was given not out and Ben Stokes opted not to review. Had he done so, Labuschagne would have been out.
