  1. 6 runs

    Eng 66-4published at 19.1 overs

Six! Ben Stokes is down the track to Travis Head and launches the ball over long on!

England aren't going to let the part-time spinner settle.

  2. Eng 60-4published at 19 overs

Pat Cummins keeps tearing in for Australia, this might be the last over of his spell but he's still bending his back and testing the England left-handers with bouncers.

Three from the over. Will Cummins have another one or is it time another burst from Mitchell Starc?

Dr. Ayelet H Lushkov: Has anyone in the England locker room realized that if they don’t stay in they won’t be able to have the Lord’s Sunday roast?

Someone get word to them now, they'll be kicking themselves if they miss out.

  4. Eng 57-4published at 18 overs

The two Bens take a single apiece from the first couple of deliveries in the over but Travis Head is landing it nicely.

A quicker ball skids on to hit Duckett on the pad, bringing an appeal for lbw but nothing doing. It was sliding down leg.

We've got a smidgen under an hour left in the day and Travis Head is coming on. A rare bit of spin in this match.

I'm still not ruling out a couple of bouncers.

England have taken a huge amount of stick over their batting approach and the interpretation of 'Bazball' but Australia’s pace attack has proved to be at a different level in both pace & skill so far in this series. I’m not sure what England bowler would get in their team at present.

    Dave from Dunstable

Say what you want about bad selection choices, poor fielding, reckless batting but England are simply being outclassed by a far better team.

Play and a miss from Ben Stokes. Angled across him by Pat Cummins, a hint of movement away from the left-hander and that is enough to take it past the outside edge.

Solid defence on the back-foot to end the over.

    How good is Pat Cummins?

  9. Eng 52-4published at 16 overs

Nicely pushed through the covers by Ben Stokes.

He didn't get all of it and the ball is hauled it before it reaches the rope but Stokes is back for two.

England just have to keep batting and hope they're batting long enough that they can even begin to think about how they might chase down these runs.

    Just another 319 to go...

Jon Evans: This has been a Test match to forget. A real step backwards. Edgbaston was unlucky but this has been a really poor show all round. Still, 3 games to go, all to play for.

  11. 50 runs

    Eng 50-4published at 15.3 overs

Ironic cheers form those inside Lord's as a single for Ben Duckett brings up the 50 for England.

  12. Eng 49-4published at 15 overs

It's not quite full-on bouncer mode from Pat Cummins, there are still a couple of slips and gully in, but three bumpers in the over suggest we're headed that way.

Ben Stokes is happy to duck them all. Maiden over.

The Rugby Pastor: You can’t dispute the fact that the Aussies have bowled absolutely beautifully in this innings so far - 3 out of 4 of the wickets have been almost unplayable.

Here is one of those good balls - and that feels an understatement.

Joe Root had looked pretty comfortable but got two brutish short balls in a row from Pat Cummins and gloved the second of them to first slip...

We've spoke a lot about England's first innings where you felt they gave wickets away, three of these four wickets have been absolutely superb bowling from Australia. They have been right on the money. Sometimes, you walk off and say you got a good ball, Pope would, so would Root, so would Brook.

  16. drinks break

    Target 371

There are a couple of gasps from the crowd as Ben Stokes calls Ben Duckett through for a quick single to end the over.

It caught Duckett a bit by surprise but despite the momentary panic, I think both batters were home even if the throw had hit at their end.

    Time for drinks.

No real reason for it but just wanted to let you know...

Only one team has ever come from 2-0 down to win the Ashes.

Don't know why I even brought it up.

We haven't been humiliated in a home Ashes series since 2001. Chastening.

Pat Cummins has now gone ahead of Josh Hazlewood in all-time Test wickets for Australia in this over, despite starting it behind him.
