    I thought he'd nicked that.

    Aus 132-4

Big roar from the crowd as the ball goes to Zak Crawley at second slip.

Given not out and Ollie Robinson isn't interested.

Crawley suggests there was two noises and belatedly Ben Stokes sends it upstairs.

Another change of bowling for England. Ollie Robinson is on to replace the unfortunate Chris Woakes.

Mark Wood puts so much effort into every ball he bowls that he ends up off his feet half the time.

I reckon it is at least one or two every over.

It shows how much effort he puts in every single ball.

  5. Aus 132-4published at 35 overs

As pacey as you'd expect from Mark Wood but still no breakthrough for England after lunch.

Mitch Marsh is able to pull the ball past mid-on for four and then add a single tovthe same region.

The over ends with a short ball that Travis Head fends off awkwardly, one bounce to Ben Duckett at gully.

Mark Wood bowled mostly back of a length in the morning session - but his second fullest delivery splattered Usman Khawaja's stumps.

Here comes Mark Wood. This should liven things up again!

This partnership is important. They are very quick scorers.

Mitch Marsh is powerful and Travis Head is a quick scorer.

This could be a match-defining partnership.

Emperor_O: For me the thing that's been disappointing about the England team is these small things especially catching. It feels like the best teams won't drop anything and turn matches with catches. In recent memory, the New Zealand team that won the WTC felt like they caught everything.

  10. Aus 127-4published at 34 overs

Nice thinking from Chris Woakes as he sends down a slower ball but Mitchell Marsh just waits for it and tucks it into the leg side for a single.

This is a very useful partnership for Australia after losing their top four before lunch.

Mitch Marsh has been given a life, but he's also played some nice shots...

This is Mitch Marsh's highest score in a Test in England.

His previous best was 27 not out at Lord's.

  13. Aus 124-4published at 33 overs

    Head 17, Marsh 31

Risky shots from Mitchell Marsh late in the over, whipping Stuart Broad off middle for a couple of runs through square leg.

A reminder that Marsh was dropped on 12 in the second over after lunch...

That is a great economical shot from Mitch Marsh. There is no flourish or follow through.

  15. Aus 121-4published at 32.3 overs

Lovely shot. No more than a push from Mitchell Marsh but he middles it, through the covers for four.

Just bumped into a mate in the Western Terrace. He reckons he’d have taken that Joe Root catch and he’s five pints in.

  17. Aus 116-4published at 32 overs

Another huge appeal as Chris Woakes squares up Mitchell Marsh.

The slips are interested, Woakes less so and Ben Stokes sides with his bowler. No review.

Ball-tracking shows it was umpire's call, just clipping the top corner of leg stump.

Good over from Woakes, plenty of excitement but no wicket.

  18. Aus 116-4published at 31.2 overs

Typical! Jonny Bairstow takes a brilliant one-hand grab down the leg side.

Big appeal, not given and no review. It was off the hip rather than bat or glove.

This game never ceases to entertain us, there's something happening all the time. England are in good position but it make you wonder how much of a better position they could be in, they have put down a few chances.

  20. Aus 114-4published at 31 overs

Mitchell Marsh is doing a good job of making England pay for that drop so far.

Every run he scores will be hurting them and Marsh adds four with a cut shot to hammer the ball past backward point.
