A crucial wicket that of Mitchell Marsh. He didn't get his hands high enough.
England's three-man slip cordon, all sporting cable knit jumpers, are all clapping and encouraging Stuart Broad as he gets the cogs and pistons pumping en route to the crease.
Round the wicket to Alex Carey and the Aussie left-hander sees off the remainder of the over without too much alarm.

How long until Mark Wood gets the nod after he hit and dismissed Alex Carey in the first innings?

Alex Carey coming out too boos, great drama. Every pantomime needs a villain.

James Gulleford: Can’t agree with these tactics from England against Head. It’s swinging, pitch it up!!!
The tactics from Stuart Broad to bowl short to Travis Head continue. The Aussie batter bobs, weaves and controls one to mid-wicket.

Not sure what was louder, the cheers for the wicket or the boos for Alex Carey.

There you go.
Pitch. It. Up.

Got him! He went to play and withdrew his bat, he didn't get his hands high enough. That's Chris Woakes in these conditions.
Marsh c Bairstow b Woakes 28 (Aus 131-5)
GONE!
Mitch Marsh caught in two minds over whether to defend or leave and as he pulls out of the shot ends up feathering a fine delivery from Chris Woakes into the gloves of Jonny Bairstow who claims a routine catch.
Chris Woakes continues with the floodlights beaming down from upon high behind him.
His third ball is a fraction wide and Mitch Marsh picks up the length quickly and thrashes it square to the boundary for four.

Travis Head's record against short balls, he averages 49. Against good length, 47 and full balls, 38.
Persistent short-pitched bowling from Stuart Broad to Travis Head. This time Head is not quite as controlled as the ball comes off the splice. It dribbles square but is collected by a fielder.
The final ball of the over is a beauty to Mitch Marsh, as Broad finds an awkward length and beats the Aussie batter's outside edge.
The crowd liked that one.

Great opportunity to bowl Oz out this evening… but we have to take our chances. This is it: if we’re going to get back in this Ashes it has to happen now.
Rob
A bouncer to Travis Head from Stuart Broad, but there is not enough venom in it and the Aussie batter can comfortably steer it square for a single.
Next ball Broad is much fuller to Mitch Marsh who gloriously drives him straight down the ground for four.

England need to be up for this, what an opportunity they have!
Stuart Broad is full and Mitch Marsh works him for a single off his pads.

Australia have got to get a bit pumped here. This is the on and off cricket that gets pretty annoying for everyone.
