As a result of Hugh Jackman being spotted at The Oval, we asked for your X-Men cricketers. It's pretty niche but I'm impressed with how many we've managed to get.

I'm yet to find one that works with Magneto, however.

If and when England do get back out there (which is looking more likely that it'll be tomorrow), they have still got 10 wickets to take.

They've barely been able to create a chance against either David Warner or Usman Khawaja.

The rain is not cascading down but it's a strong drizzle. It's gloomy, and the lights are on.

    Thanks, Tom.

Unfortunately I can't bring good news. The full covers are still on, and the stands are slowly emptying.

As the rain continues to fall it is time for me to take a break.

Hopefully Ffion Wynne will bring some good fortune on the weather front and we see some more play today.

An early tea has been taken as the rain continues to fall.

Looks to be a good idea as there will be plenty of mopping up to do if/when it stops raining.

Nice and dry in Manchester now. Just saying.

It is a sorry scene The Oval right now. The full covers are fully on stretching right across the outfield and the stands are sparse as fans take cover under the stands.

I've just had a quick look at the rain radar but quickly had to close it again.

    It looks horrific.

We love a good celeb spot and this is a corker - Wolverine, Jean Valjean and the Greatest Showman himself Hugh Jackman is in the house at The Oval.

As it is raining, cricketers as X-Men anyone?

    I'll say one thing.

England were 100-0 against India here two years ago, chasing 368, and still lost by 157 runs.

Hate to say it, but looks like England have run out of ideas just as Australia has realised they are the best test team in the world.

Khawaja and Warner have played with great skill. It's a nice pitch to bat on and they're making best use of it.

Oh dear. More covers are being brought now and it is looking very, very dark.

We could be in for a long delay sadly.

    Aus 135-0

And just like that the rain has got heavier and the players are coming off.

Not what we want to see, but maybe a break and chance to regroup is what England need as they looked bereft of ideas.

Fingers crossed it is only a short delay. There is only one cover on at present, though it looks pretty gloomy in the distance...

  19. drinks break

    Aus 135-0published at 38 overs

Three slips in place for Chris Woakes but he doesn't trouble these Australia batters, who look very well set.

As Matthew says it is starting to rain at The Oval, so naturally we are having a drinks break...
