    Worcs 284 v Glamorgan 163-7

Chris Cooke pulls Logan van Beek powerfully through square leg for four, but the Dutch seamer has the last laugh, pitching the next delivery up and finding Cooke's outside edge.

Cooke has taken Glamorgan past the follow-on target with his punchy knock, but the visitors are still facing a significant first-innings deficit.

    There it is.

A full length dive and it's two runs for Alex Lees to square leg at the start of a new Jaydev Unadkat over and he has his fifth Championship century of the season.

This one has taken the left-hander 138 balls and has included two sixes and eight fours.

  3. wicket

WICKET Hain lbw Clark 22published at 14:16 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Surrey 396 v Warwicks 79-6

Sam Hain runs Jordan Clark down to third man four four runs, but that is his final scoring stroke as the Surrey paceman wins an lbw appeal with his next delivery.

Michael Burgess is 24 not out and Warwickshire need someone to produce something special as Danny Briggs joins him in the middle.

  4. wicket

WICKET Dal b Fisher 1published at 14:15 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Yorkshire 297 v Derbyshire 193-6

Wickets tumbling all over the country and another goes at Scarborough.

A seriously quick delivery from Matt Fisher is too good and too fast for Anuj Dal, whose stumps are shattered.

Yorkshire lead by over 100 and will now fancy a first-innings lead.

  5. Division Two updatepublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

The wickets keep falling at the Uptonsteel County ground.

Chris Dent, with his squared up stance, chops a Chris Wright delivery into his stumps and Gloucestershire are 9-1 in their second innings.

    They trail Leicestershire by 36.

  6. wicket

WICKET Rew c Middleton b Dawson 7published at 14:11 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Hants 308 v Somerset 67-5

That's the wicket Hampshire would have wanted!

James Rew jabs forward to Liam Dawson, gets a thick inside edge, and Fletcha Middleton takes a superb reflex catch at short leg.

Somerset are five down, still trailing by 241 runs.

  7. wicket

WICKET Bell lbw b White 0published at 14:09 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Northants 232 v Lancashire 189-6

Two wickets in three balls for Jack White!

That is full and straight as it pins George Bell on the crease second ball. No doubts there - that is plumb.

And Northants have struck two timely blows.

  8. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Surrey 396 v Warwicks 73-5

Poor ball by Jamie Overton - who was presented with his county cap along with Jamie Smith during the lunch interval - at the start of a new over and Sam Hain goes up on his toes before thumping it through the covers for four.

An uncomfortable moment for Hain at the end of the over as Overton fires in a lifting delivery and he does well to keep on top of it.

  9. wicket

WICKET Lawrence c Simpson b Bamber 13published at 14:07 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Essex 162-4 v Middlesex

A legside strangle and Essex have lost a fourth wicket.

Dan Lawrence will be annoyed with himself as he attempts a flick off Ethan Bamber and only diverts into the hands of the wicketkeeper.

A first wicket of the innings to seam and Middlesex are right back in this contest.

  10. wicket

WICKET Vilas b White 37published at 14:06 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Northants 232 v Lancashire 189-5

Disappointment for Dane Vilas as he goes back to one from Jack White and inside-edges it onto the stumps.

Vilas had battled hard for 68 balls, but a change of ball has done the trick for Northants.

  11. wicket

WICKET Lamb b Fisher 10published at 14:05 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Yorkshire 297 v Derbyshire 191-5

    Bowled him!

A sight a fast bowler never tires of seeing - off stump out of the ground as Matt Fisher sends Matt Lamb on his way.

Yorkshire fighting back with these two wickets.

  12. wicket

WICKET Bedingham c Carson b Unadkat 9published at 14:04 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Durham 168-3 v Sussex 266

Jaydev Unadkat has his first wicket for Sussex as David Bedingham obligingly clips a leg-stump delivery to Jack Carson at mid-wicket.

The Durham batter will be disappointed with that one.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Essex 158-3 v Middlesex

Josh de Caires should have a fourth wicket!

Dan Lawrence goes for a big drive, edges it straight to Ryan Higgins at slip but the catch goes down.

De Caires causing all sorts of problems this afternoon.

  14. wicket

    WICKET Kohler-Cadmore lbw b Barker 0published at 13:59 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Hants 308 v Somerset 54-4

Keith Barker appealsImage source, Getty Images

A duck for Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Keith Barker now has 4-12 from 6.2 overs - he's bowled beautifully.

Kohler-Cadmore seems to think that hit him outside the line, but he did that classic trick of moving after impact, and it didn't work here.

Somerset were 51-1 just a few minutes ago... James Rew might have put his pads on in a bit of a hurry.

  15. 150 runs

up for Essexpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Essex 151-3 v Middlesex

Dan Lawrence gets three off Toby Roland-Jones and that brings up the 150 for Essex.

They certainly will not be as happy with things as they were at lunch thanks to those three Josh de Caires wickets.

  16. Division Two updatepublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

We are only in the fifth session of play at Grace Road but the third innings of the match is under way.

Gloucestershire are 4-0 in the fourth over and need another 41 to clear their first-innings deficit.

  17. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Surrey 396 v Warwicks 64-5

After the hectic comings and goings at The Oval, we appear to have entered a quiet phase of play.

Jamie Overton and Jordan Clark are now sharing bowling duties and Warwickshire are content to collect the odd one or two.

Michael Burgess is 19 not out and Sam Hain has 12.

  18. wicket

WICKET Lammonby c Brown b Barker 27published at 13:54 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Hants 308 v Somerset 52-3

Keith Barker goes bang-bang, and suddenly, Somerset are in a wee bit of strife.

Tom Lammonby pushes forward, and gets a healthy edge through to Ben Brown, who safely pouches it behind the stumps.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore joins Andy Umeed in the middle.

  19. wicket

WICKET Westley lbw b de Caires 19published at 13:54 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Essex 148-3 v Middlesex

Josh de Caires appealsImage source, Rex Features

    Well bowled Mike Atherton junior!!

A peach of a dismissal for an off-spinner as Tom Westley leaves one outside off and watches the ball turn back past his bat and hit the stumps.

Josh de Caires has 3-45 and Essex have gone from 122-0 to 148-3.

  20. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 4 September 2023

    Northants 232 v Lancashire 174-4

Slow and steady progress from Lancashire since lunch - think Usman Khawaja in this summer's Ashes.

Josh Bohannon has moved to 74 and Dane Vilas has got to 35.

Northants lead by 58 but they need a breakthrough.
