This is exactly what Leicester wanted.

They wanted a new batter in to try and create a bit of pressure and create a few dots, just to push that run rate back up.

The Leicester fielders are getting their supporters up - it's fantastic to watch.

Catch taken in the deep! But it will be checked.

    Straight in! What a catch.

It's the substitute Will Davis running in from deep square who has dived forward and taken a beauty to break this partnership.

Joe Weatherley swept off a top edge and it just carries to the fielder.

    0-46 for Scriven.

  7. 'No need to panic'published at 17:38 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Hants 208-5 (target 268)

    Sean Ervine
Former Hampshire all-rounder on BBC Radio Solent

    Leicestershire desperately need a wicket.

At the moment Hampshire are in control and they don't need to panic.

They've got past the 200 mark now as well which is another hurdle so they're ekeing closer and closer. If they don't panic, they should get home.

It's important that these two stay here - they are clear-headed.

  8. Hants need 60 from 48 ballspublished at 42 overs

    Hants 208-5 (target 268)

Chris Wright is back. Can he make the breakthrough again? Only two overs remaining for him.

He's worked for two twos backward of square on the leg side and then a single to long-on by Joe Weatherley.

Liam Dawson then pulls wide of long leg for two more. Single, dot to end the over.

    Good one for Hampshire.

Foxes fans trying to raise their side again as the sun sneaks out once more.

  9. Hants need 68 from 54 ballspublished at 41 overs

    Hants 200-5 (target 268)

The required rate just creeping up but this pair still content to knock it around.

Liam Dawson has a pull to leg but just a single to deep midwicket.

This is what Leicestershire wanted, to take the game deep. For a while Hampshire were cruising.

  10. Hants need 73 from 60 ballspublished at 40 overs

    Hants 195-5 (target 268)

Josh Hull is back. Leicestershire need to break this stand.

Three singles before Joe Weatherley plays and misses outside off.

Liam Dawson comes down to have a word.

Two singles to third man to end the over.

10 overs to go and it's anyone's game still. What a final we have!

  11. Hampshire back on coursepublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Hampshire 190-5 (78 needed from 66 balls)

    Ged Scott

It has gone comparatively quiet in Nottingham now - and, given Leicestershire's greater vocal support earlier, that can only mean that Hampshire must be ahead.

The ship has been steadied by Joe Weatherley and Liam Dawson and back on course for an eighth one-day cup triumph in this their 10th final.

What is more, the bookies are in agreement.

They have the Southampton side as clear favourites now!

  12. Hants 190-5 (target 268)published at 39 overs

Joe Weatherley tries to work to leg but gets a leading edge - only along the ground to mid-off.

Liam Dawson then dabs and goes into the off side.

And a really good save at midwicket last ball of the over.

One or two Hampshire voices being heard in the stands for the first time today.

    78 needed from 66 balls.

  13. Hants 187-5 (target 268)published at 38 overs

    Ah Colin Ackermann changes ends.

Liam Dawson gives himself a little room and cuts off a thick edge fine and almost to the third man fence. They get three.

Ackermann, not for the first time, then almost squeezes through a quicker ball on Joe Weatherley.

He then dabs leg side and gets a couple to end the over.

    50 stand comes up.

  14. Hants 182-5 (target 268)published at 37 overs

Tom Scriven replaces Colin Ackermann at the Radcliffe Road End.

Liam Dawson punches him very sweetly past mid-off for a couple.

Joe Weatherley then cuts two more wide of third man.

  15. Hants 177-5 (target 268)published at 36 overs

No drama once again for Hampshire. This pair have got them moving soundly again.

Moving better than Wiaan Mulder who is a little ginger.

But it's a good over. A single from five deliveries and Joe Weatherley picks out point last ball of the over.

  16. Leics need to take it to the wirepublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Hants 176-5 (target 268)

    Niall O'Brien
Former Ireland wicketkeeper on BBC Radio Leicestershire

As a Leicestershire player and fan you think let's get the game down to the last two or three overs, six or seven wickets down.

Create a little bit of uncertainty because you know you don't have the attack to blow away the tail so you're just trying to hang in there as much as you can.

Hampshire, they just want to try and defuse the situation, try and keep a calm head.

  17. Hants 176-5 (target 268)published at 35 overs

Hampshire chase getting back on course.

Joe Weatherley has had enough of fiddling Colin Ackermann around and slog sweeps him over deep midwicket for six! Lovely strike.

Has a second go but misses completely.

    92 from 90 balls needed.

Wiaan Mulder is back - but may have a niggle in his foot.

Liam Dawson pulls just wide enough of deep square for two.

Then goes again and finds the gap between deep square and long leg.

Hampshire just taking the sting out of the Foxes here.

  19. Hants 159-5 (target 268)published at 33 overs

Joe Weatherley sweeps to the 45.

And is then very nearly done by Colin Ackermann's quicker ball. Just keeps it out on his stumps.

Liam Dawson is down the wicket but can't beat the bowler.

    Miserly again from the offie.

  20. 'Hampshire just ahead'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Hants 156-5 (target 268)

    Niall O'Brien
Former Ireland wicketkeeper on BBC Radio Leicestershire

I still have Hampshire ahead of the game, still, just about.

We know what Liam Dawson is going to do with all his experience. He's going to assess the conditions of the game and the pitch and scenario.

Will Joe Weatherley think differently? Will he think I'm going to be the aggressor here?

If he does it might give Leicestershire a chance and open the door to them again.
