  1. Hants 83-2published at 17 overs

Tom Prest cracks his fourth four as Josh Hull offers up more width.

But then, inexplicably, Ben Brown almost runs himself out.

Dashing for a single which had risk all over it, Brown had given up as Colin Ackermann picked up and turned.

But with the batsman still out of the frame, the throw misses the stumps and the Hants man breathes again.

  2. Hants 76-2 (target 268)published at 16 overs

Another tidy over from Tom Scriven - just three singles and a wide.

Hants need 192 runs from 34 overs and the required run rate is a comfy 5.67.

  3. Hants 72-2 (target 268)published at 15 overs

Josh Hull still hasn't quite settled and Tom Prest can sense it.

To his first ball, Prest advances down the wicket and smears the ball for four through extra cover.

A brilliant piece of work by Colin Ackermann prevents another, but Prest squirts the final ball of the over for four.

Ten from the over and 19 from his first two.

  4. Hants 62-2 (target 268)published at 14 overs

A fine second over from Tom Scriven who then beats Tom Prest's outside edge.

Just a single and leg bye - and plenty of threat from the young seamer.

  5. Umpire reviewpublished at 13.2 overs

Tom Scriven traps Ben Brown walking across his stumps, but the batter reviews immediately.

After an age waiting for ball tracking, the ball is found to be going down leg and the decision is reversed.

    A lifeline for Brown.

  6. Hants 60-2 (target 268)published at 13 overs

Another young in-form seamer Josh Hull comes into the attack, replacing Wiaan Mulder.

The academy graduate has 15 wickets in the competition so far.

He's soon up to speed and his second ball is clocked at 87mph but called a wide.

Then a lovely shot from Tom Prest. Hull offers a bit of width, and Prest cuts it to the boundary.

Two more legside wides before Hull finally climbs out of a nine-ball over.

First bowling change as Tom Scriven replaces Chris Wright at the Pavilion End.

    He's had a fine one-day campaign with 14 wickets.

But a wristy cut shot from Ben Brown sends his second ball to the backward point boundary.

A single then brings up the Hampshire 50 off 70 balls before Tom Prest adds another.

    Six from the over.

  8. Hants 44-2published at 11 overs

Wiaan Mulder has his tail up, not surprisingly.

Tom Prest and Ben Brown look untroubled as they take a single each and look to restore a measure of calm.

  9. Hants 41-2published at 10 overs

Ben Brown joins Tom Prest at the wicket.

Leics have two new batsmen to go at now after an explosive end to a powerplay which had been drifting comfortably along for Hants.

Just three singles from the 10th.

Hants are some way ahead at this stage - Leics were 22-4 - but those two quick wickets have really opened things up.

A “seed of doom” as they say in the industry! A little cutter. We said some subtle variations might be needed and that’s just what he’s provided.

    Now then.

Cutter from Wiaan Mulder does the trick. It foxes Fletcha Middleton and an inside edge onto the stumps does for the opener.

Both openers back in the hutch thanks to Mulder.

    We have a game.

  12. Mulder supplies the X factorpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Hampshire 37-1 (target 268)

The cheers from the Hampshire contingent in the crowd as they plundered the fourth boudary of their reply suggested that all was going rather well.

But games can change in the blink of ah eye.

And maybe ths match has just had one of those moments.

Even before Wiaan Mulder threw, Nick Gubbins knew he might be in trouble. He knew he might have to scurry - and Mulder hit!

Has agent Mulder given the Foxes that X factor?

  13. Umpire reviewpublished at 8.1 overs

Lewis Hill goes for the review after that man Wiaan Mulder hit's Tom Prest's pad.

    But was their bat involved?

    No bat.

But according to Hawkeye it's going over the timbers.

  14. Hants 37-1published at 8 overs

The Hants openers were looking so comfortable before that run out, but maybe this could spark Leics into life.

From Hants' point of view a needless risk.

Gubbins run out 20 (Hants 34-1, target 268)

That's just the moment of magic Leicestershire needed!

Nick Gubbins attempts a quick single but Wiaan Mulder picks up and with one stump to aim for, his throw connects with it.

Gubbins dives and it's close enough to prompt a review. But he's gone!

  16. Hants 30-0published at 7 overs

    Fine shot!

Fletcha Middleton gets up on his toes to punch a four through extra cover off Wiaan Mulder.

Seven from the over and the solid start continues.

The Hampshire reply has started very nicely. The pitch seems to have flattened out and quickened up a little with the afternoon sunshine on it.

  18. Hants 23-0published at 6 overs

Great stop to prevent a boundary and then Chris Wright does beat the bat.

It thuds into Nick Gubbins' back pad and there's an appeal from the bowler, but it lacks genuine belief. Going down leg.

    Four from the over.

  19. Hants 19-0 (target 268)published at 5 overs

    And repeat.

Another pair of singles from Wiaan Mulder's third over, but still no sideways movement.

It's tight bowling, but Hants are in no hurry.

  20. Hants 17-0published at 4 overs

Having leaked nine runs off his opening over, Chris Wright tightens things up in his next.

Just a single each for Fletcha Middleton and Nick Gubbins.

    No chances as yet though.
