  1. Join us on day three...published at 19:12 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

"Tammy Beaumont's maiden Test century led England's emphatic fightback..." is the verdict of my colleague Ffion Wynne in her report of day two.

You can read her musings from an eventful day at Trent Bridge here...

Our highlights programme Today At The Test is on air now on BBC Four with all the key moments.

You can also rewind it to the start and watch anytime on BBC iPlayer here...

Otherwise, that's about all we have time for this evening.

We'll back at 10:00am (BST) on Saturday for live text commentary of what could be a pivotal day three from Trent Bridge, with Test Match Special on air at 10:30 on Sports Xtra.

Australia all-rounder Anabel Sutherland, who made her maiden international century, told TMS:"I am not sure it's sunk in yet! It was a lot of fun there and it was nice to put on some runs with Kim Garth and Alana King at the end. They really did their jobs.

"I think we are on top at 250 ahead. Nat and Tammy took some momentum England's way but there is some variable bounce in the pitch and we saw some chances to our spinners and looking forward to getting stuck in tomorrow."

  3. 'We wanted to put pressure on'published at 19:00 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

More from Tammy Beaumont, speaking on how England's bowlers fared: "I think it’s a hard thing for the seamers, I think it will open up for the seamers as the days go on. Our bowlers have put in a great shift, especially Kate Cross."

On team talk in between innings: "To be honest, I kind of zone out when I know it’s my job, I’m in the zone just getting the pads on. We’ve spoke a lot about wanting to put a lot of pressure on the Aussies, just because they put on 470 odd, that didn’t change."

Where do you see this game?: "I think it’s finely balanced. I think it’s a very good batting wicket, if two people get in it’s very hard to get them out. I don’t think I batted my best, I was stubborn, which Heather Knight has called me for years."

  4. 'I hadn't thought about it'published at 18:59 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

Tammy Beaumont on Test Match Special about becoming a multi-format centurion: "I hadn’t even thought about it, Heather said welcome to the club, it hadn’t even crossed my mind."

On a long time fielding to opening the batting: "It was a long time in the field, a lot of time with the short leg pads on, I think I’ve got a rash on my shins. We have to know what our roles are, it was a tough one, I was really flagging at the end of that last session but the bowlers have done a great job out there."

I think England have done incredibly well, especially Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight. Yes, they are just over 250 behind, but it doesn't feel like that.

Here's that magical moment when Tammy Beaumont joined Heather Knight, Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan as an England centurion in all three formats of the game.

It's in their power, Tammy Beaumont only gave away one bit of a howler from Alyssa Healy. Other than that, we've had an incredibly disciplined day from one of England's best batters.

  10. Postpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 23 June 2023

England are still quite a way behind Australia's total of 473 but the manner in which Nat Sciver-Brunt went about her business will be a great source of encouragement that runs can be scored on this pitch, and quickly.

Tammy Beaumont barely acknowledges the crowd as she makes her way back to the pavilion. It's a brilliant century, but she knows there's still plenty to do tomorrow.

    England trail by 255 runs.

A long way to go in this game.
