Why are people suddenly being so pessimistic about the Ashes? Granted Australia have done well against an India side who haven't played in a while and the majority have been in the IPL. Let's wait and see what happens next week.

Australia are in a good place before the Ashes start. It's a great feather for them. Cricketing logic said they would go on and win and it had prove to be the case.
The Australia bowlers have been destructive but in truth this match was probably won by the partnership of 285 by Travis Head and Steve Smith on the first two days. India were trying to catch up ever since.

It's been a dominant display from Australia. It was a mammoth total. We knew when Australia could get through the top order of India they would be able to do it.
Everyone has had a go and it's been the perfect warm up for them ahead of the Ashes.
Australia are clearly delighted but the celebrations are not over the top.
They have much more they want to achieve this summer.

A huge and well deserved victory. They have claimed the prize and the joy of being the number one team in Test match cricket.

To Nick H 12:23, not sure if you are new to cricket but Broad and Jimmy in England both would be picks.

Shami and Siraj survive the rest of the over, scoring two singles in the process.
We're into the extra half an hour as the umpires try to allow this to finish before lunch.

That was a good review.
Mohammed Shami survives.
Ooooo there's no spike!
This is going to an anti-climax. Shami is now given out caught down the leg side.
He reviews...
Mohammed Shami is going to go down swinging.
Two boundaries in a row off Mitchell Starc.

It's happened pretty quickly since the great batter Kohli was out.
Cameron Green and Nathan Lyon are hugging with wide grins. They know it's almost done.
