Thakur lbw Lyon 0 (Ind 213-7)
It's absolutely dead.
A classic dismissal for an off-spinner.
It has pitched in line from round the wicket, turned and hit halfway up the front pad.
He hasn't hit it.

Lyon certainly looked to be in line with the stumps.
This looks out.
Shardul Thakur is given lbw after being hit on the pad by Nathan Lyon.
He reviews because he has to.

Pudding-Head Wilson: And that should be that.
India need 232 runs to win
Shardul Thakur would probably be dangerous if India were 150 runs away when he came in. He can whack quick runs. He's got fifties in each of his three innings at The Oval too. But he's surely not going to be able to pull this off.
Australia are four wickets away as Shardul Thakur emerges.
Mitchell Starc is pumped.

That ball was outside the off stump and was tempting Rahane into a drive through the off side. It was a good length delivery from Starc and Rahane is shaking his head, he can't believe it.
Rahane c Carey b Starc 46 (Ind 212-6)
Oh Ajinkya Rahane is gutted. He can't believe he has nicked a drive behind off Mitchell Starc. Was he trying to hit a four to get to his fifty? It wasn't quite there to hit.
Rahane stands with his bat on the top of his helmet before dragging himself from the field.

This is why I think Lyon needs to bowl over the wicket to right handers. He has more chance to hit the wickets. Lyon's length isn't quite where it needs to be.
Target 444
Rahane has done it again, this time placing Nathan Lyon off the back foot to the sound of more jubilation in the stands. Do you think he's trying to prove a point after India dropped him earlier this year?
Rahane may be 35 but he suddenly looks undroppable again.

Rahane looks very comfortable at the crease. The straight drives he's been playing have been beautiful to watch.

Rahane looks in wonderful touch.
Rahane 41, Bharat 15
Ajinkya Rahane drives another boundary off Mitchell Starc. In fairness to him he's managed to just keep on batting despite those two wickets.

There's little targets from here on. You can't think about the end of the day.
Target 444
In my head if Scott Boland is going to keep bowling in the same spot as he does then it should be predictable and easier for the England batter to hit but it's really not that simple, is it?

Why do so many otherwise excellent batsmen conspire to make Boland look good? Hoping Bazball shows him up as the middling lolloper he is.
Nick, living in a world of optimism
The Australians will want to make sure Boland doesn't tread on any cricket balls before the Ashes.

Target 444
Lovely shot. Ajinkya Rahane drives Mitchell Starc down the ground for the first boundary after drinks. That brings up India's 200. There are some wild celebrations from the India fans in the crowd, almost as if they'd won the mace itself, but I think that's slightly in jest.

India after those two wickets have to bat for the draw here and Australia just need to take the remaining wickets to give themselves as much time to rest before Friday.
Drinks are coming onto the field. There was a little period at the start where India looked like they might have a sniff but Scott Boland has changed it.
The Aussies look so relaxed now as they have a drink. They know they're almost there.
