  1. 'It's not quite showing the tricks and the demons we thought'published at 10:32 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

Australia's Mitchell Starc speaking to Alison Mitchell: "The pitch might play a part. It's not quite showing the tricks and the demons we thought it might but day five can toss up all sorts of things.

"We can see from the surface that there are some cracks there, some balls are still playing a part in it. Hopefully it breaks up more, the sun is out and it's been warmer these last couple of days. We'll see how the day plays out but we need to be patient.

"It's a Dukes ball instead of a Kookaburra and it doesn't change too much. The great thing with us we can all bowl with a new ball."

  2. Ind 164-3published at 40.1 overs

The India fans cheer as Scott Boland charges in for the first ball.

They quickly fall quiet as it scuttles low. That won't fill them with confidence.

  3. Ind 164-3published at 40 overs

    Target 444

    We're all set then.

Virat Kohli and David Warner are having a polite word after making it to the middle.

There are still empty seats in the stands. Get a shift on if you're coming.

It is such a big target that you think both of these two - Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane - have to get hundreds.

India aren't happy about the catch and Australia believe it's a catch.

For me watching the player live you can always tell. Cameron Green has caught it and thrown the ball up straight away, if there was some doubt then we would have seen it.

Where has the trust in the players gone?

  6. Can Virat Kohli do it for India?published at 10:25 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

Virat Kohli is the king of chases in one-day cricket. He has arguably been the iconic batter of his era.

If anyone in this India team is going to do this, it probably has to be him.

But his hundred against Australia in March is his only ton in his past 25 Tests.

He hasn't scored a century in the second innings since 2018.

  7. Charlotte Edwards Cup final resumespublished at 10:22 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

There's plenty going on elsewhere today.

The Charlotte Edwards Cup final was called off because of heavy rain yesterday. Southern Vipers and The Blaze return today to finish the game off.

That has just resumed and you can follow it here.

There are also eight County Championship games beginning at 11:00 BST.

  8. How does the 'sixth' day work?published at 10:19 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

Just to avoid any confusion, although there's a sixth day scheduled for this match - hence the reference at the top of this page - it is only a reserve day.

That means it is there for making up time lost to weather interruptions in the match.

It will not be used to keep playing until there's a winner, if one has not been crowned by the end of the day.

If there's no significant rain today and India hang on without scoring the runs required, the match will end as a draw.

  9. What's the weather forecast?published at 10:14 British Summer Time 11 June 2023

It is not out of the question we get a shower this afternoon, just to add a bit of extra fun to the mix.

    Good morning.

Today the second world Test champions will be crowd. Will it be Australia or India?

The Aussies are huge favourites. They resume needing another seven wickets.

India need a further 280 runs but while Virat Kohli is there they'll always have a chance.
