  1. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 31.3 overs

    Oman 120-5 (target 321)

Ayaan Khan tees off again, this time against Chris Greaves. A pretty big one-bounce four from the slog sweep.

His next isn't bad either! He's gone again! Another massive shot over deep square leg! He sent the local children running for cover!

For the first time, an Omani batsman has the Scotland bowling attack on the defensive.

  2. Postpublished at 31 overs

    Oman 109-5 (target 321)

Mark Watt is back on to fire us through a quick over. He bowls one veryyyy wide - to a couple of chuckles, and even a smile from the umpire - before being reverse swept for a boundary. A very nice shot from Ayaan Khan, but not vintage stuff from Mark Watt.

Ayaan up to a very respectable 20 from 22 balls.

  3. wicket

WICKET Nadeem lbw b Greaves 15published at 29.5 overs

    Oman 102-5 (target 321)

Very quick decision from umpire Bongani Jele as Greaves gets his man. It's hit him plum in front, and Mohammad Nadeem has no complaints.

He's the fifth Oman batsman to trudge off, each as dejected as the last. Shoaib Khan is the next man in.

  4. Postpublished at 29 overs

    Oman 99-4 (target 321)

Chris Greaves is back into the bowling attack, and he's punished immediately as he overpitches one to Ayaan Khan who puts him away for four, past the despairing dive of Richie Berrington. He recovers though, only conceding another two.

Watt comes in, only concedes one and a leg bye. The required run rate pushing up with every passing delivery. 10.57 at present.

  5. Postpublished at 27 overs

    Oman 89-4 (target 321)

Very nearly a morale-raising six for Oman... but when it isn't your day. The boundary is reviewed and it's given as a four.

It was Mohammad Nadeem with the shot, slogging Mark Watt over mid-wicket. Millimetres away from a maximum.

Eight from the over. Oman's best for a good wee while.

  6. Postpublished at 26 overs

    Oman 83-4 (target 321)

Oh my - how is that not a wicket?! Mohammad Nadeem almost plays onto his own stumps, seemingly clipping them on the way past Matthew Cross.

Oman cannot figure out how to play either Michael Leask or Mark Watt. The asking rate now is almost 10. Ooft.

  7. Postpublished at 24 overs

    Oman 77-4 (target 321)

Ayaan Khan is in, quite an aggressive batsman on his day. Just the two off that Michael Leask over, though.

It remains to be seen if Oman will put up much more of a fight and trudge to defeat, or whether they'll go quickly and quietly.

  8. wicket

WICKET Aqib Ilyas b Watt 31published at 22.1 overs

    Oman 72-4 (target 321)

Mark Watt is back on. He conceded eight runs from his first two overs - actually quite expensive in this innings!

And he strikes immediately! It's the man they needed to get! Watt cleans out Aqib Ilyas!

The pace is perfect, the turn is perfect. Ilyas is a very good batsman and that ball has made him look silly. That's how good it was.

That is surely the game. In fact, Michael Leask is taking the time to sign autographs on the boundary. That's where Scotland's heads are at.

  9. wicket

WICKET Maqsood b Leask 8published at 21.1 overs

    Oman 70-3 (target 321)

Oman's captain is gone! He tries the big old sweep, lured in by Leask's delivery and Richie Berrington's field setting - encouraging a big slog - but he gets it wrong.

Safyaan Sharif played a part too, building the pressure on the Oman skipper to up the run rate. He couldn't do it and Oman are staring down the barrel.

Mohammad Nadeem is the next batter in.

  10. Postpublished at 20 overs

    Oman 70-2 (target 321)

Michael Leask is coming in for a bowl. The spinner concedes just three. It swings back to Scotland.

Safyaan Sharif is back on. He's on 98 ODI wickets for Scotland. Today could be the day he reaches 100 - the first Scot ever to do so.

It won't happen this over. Five dots, finished with a four as Aqib Ilyas powers a cover drive away. The pressure was building but that boundary releases it.

  11. Much better from Oman after drinkspublished at 19 overs

    Oman 63-2 (target 321)

Aqib Ilyas pumps Safyaan Sharif down the ground! He made 50s against the UAE and Ireland, and he's starting to tee off here. We said he could be the man to punish Scotland. That's what he's doing here. What was in his orange juice?!

Zeeshan Maqsood is getting in on the act - although it was streaky, with a leading edge over point.

Another over above the required run rate. This is better from Oman.

  12. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 18 overs

    Oman 53-2 (target 321)

Eleven from the over after the drinks break. Twice Aqib Ilyas gets big air on his shots, but twice he catches it too full and it doesn't have the pace or bounce to make it to the boundary rope.

He makes up for it by pulling a short ball over square leg for six. It made a beautiful sound of the bat. Surely not, right?

  13. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Oman 42-2 (target 321)

Adrian Neill almost get a second in that over alone, beating Zeeshan Masqood on the outside edge and going inches wide of the off-stump.

Safyaan Sharif comes back for his second over. He was superb against the UAE on Friday. Can he pick up a couple of more wickets today?

He'll probably be happy enough to keep Oman's run rate to 2.4. Their required run rate sits around 8.4. A massive four off that over.

There's a long way to go - but after 136 with the bat and an early wicket, Brandon McMullen (left) will surely be Man of the Match

  15. wicket

WICKET Singh b Neill 14published at 15.2 overs

    Oman 38-2 (target 321)

Jatinder Singh is finally put out of his misery. He goes for the straight drive and Neill's delivery zips through him and rattles the middle stump. A really, really tough day out there for the Omani opener.

The captain, Zeeshan Maqsood, is out there now. They need a miracle - can he provide it?

  16. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Oman 36-1 (target 321)

McMullen's latest over goes for just two.

Adrian Neill comes in again, and with his second ball there's a huge appeal. Jatinder Singh tried to fend forward but it went through and hit him in the knee. Maybe the height on it was going over. Bongani Jele doesn't see anything interesting.

Another two off that over. It's not remotely close to what Oman need. Their worm is looking particularly flat. A cutting insult in the cricket community, trust me.

  17. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Oman 32-1 (target 321)

Adrian Neill is on for a bowl, the change in the Scotland starting XI. He's replaced young Jack Jarvis, and he's got a superb record against Oman in previous games.

He's loosening up at the moment, but with his third ball he almost forces Jatidner Singh to drag on. The Omani opener is lacking any sort of fluidity out there. Making it look a real struggle.

  18. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 11 overs

    Oman 29-1 (target 321)

Aqib Ilyas - that was absolutely lovely! The new batsman slots one between extra-cover and mid-off for four. Just his third ball, and he leans into the juicy half-volley. He'll be they key man in this run chase.

Two balls later - he's dropped! Richie Berrington is the guilty party at extra cover. That's come absolutely flying at him, but it was straight at the skipper. If he'd held on, the game would almost have been done there and then. Missed opportunity.

  19. wicket

WICKET Prajapati b McMullen 12published at 10.1 overs

    Oman 25-1 (target 321)

The first wicket finally comes! Kashyap Prajapati is beaten all ends up by an absolute jaffa from Brandon McMullen - what a day he is having!

It just nipped in to out, to smash into the top of the off-stump. Absolute filth.

  20. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Oman 25-0 (target 321)

Another single run off Chris Sole's latest over. He'll be keen for a wicket - and this spell definitely deserves one - but similarly, he won't be too bothered. In five overs, he's conceded just six runs.

Oman are currently on target for a measly 125. Nowhere near it.
