  1. Oman's first four takes nine overs to arrivepublished at 9 overs

    Oman 24/0 (target 321)

Sole's final delivery goes millimetres past the outside edge.

McMullen's first does the same, before Matthew Cross whips the bails off - just in case, more than anything else. Yeah, Jatinder Singh is comfortably in.

The third ball is dispatched though! It's been a long time since we've had a boundary. It actually wasn't far away from a phenomenal catch in the covers. It was Berrington, but that would've been superhuman had he got that.

  2. Postpublished at 7.2 overs

    Oman 18-0 (target 321)

Sole back on, and another big appeal. It's Jatinder Singh on the receiving end. He's beaten as he tries to flick, but I can only assume it's going down leg. Didn't look bad, though. One leg bye for the over, so it goes down as a maiden for Sole.

McMullen starts his second over. He concedes just one. Over 75% of Scotland's deliveries so far have been dot balls.

Sole on again, and Jatinder Singh is really struggling against him. Scotland will be absolutely fine with this run rate.

  3. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Oman 16-0 (target 321)

Hello, Brandon McMullen! That's an early change in the bowling. Can he repeat the 5-34 he got against Ireland?

Not so far, but only concedes four off that over. I wonder if Mark Watt was just on early doors to see what the pitch was doing.

  4. Prajapati gets lucky!published at 4 overs

    Oman 11-0 (target 321)

Big, big appeal for a catch behind from Matthew Cross. It's a beaut of a delivery from Chris Sole, angled into the right hander. Jatinder Singh didn't have an answer for it, stuck on the crease. The umpire is unmoved.

Singh plays the next one away. It's shorter and straighter, and he's able to nick a single to get himself off the mark.

Prajapati is back on. He pulls and - OH! It's just over square leg, who is able to recover. That is very lucky for the Omani opener.

  5. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 3 overs

    Oman 9-0 (target 321)

Ah. Kashyap Prajapati produces a fine stroke, clubbing it down the ground as he charged down the wicket, launching Mark Watt downtown.

Only one more off the over, so a decent recovery from the spinner. It's never nice getting hit that far though.

  6. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Oman 2-0 (target 321)

A very good start for Scotland, just the one run from the opening Mark Watt over.

Same goes for Chris Sole in his opening over. He even had an appeal for LBW with the final ball, but looked like it was going down leg.

  7. Welcome back!published at 0.0 overs

    Oman 0-0 (target 321)

It's all or nothing for Oman. This is their final game of the group stage, and they need a win to have any hope of progressing.

Kashyap Prajapati will face the first ball for Oman. Jatinder Singh is his partner.

Mark Watt, the left arm spinner, will open the bowling for Scotland. Interesting!

  8. McMullen takes his dad's advicepublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 25 June 2023

    Scotland 320-10 v Oman

Scotland's superstar Brandon McMullen tells Sky Sports: "It's a pretty special moment for me out there, my first hundred for Scotland and hopefully the first of many. I'm kind of lost for words, but it's only half the job done.

"It was quite tricky out there to begin with. Bit low, a bit of swing and nip. I tried to keep it simple, play strong shots and rebuild. I'm thankful we did that until the end.

"It's part of my game, I try and play as straight as possible. My dad always tells my to 'play in the V' so I tried to do that as best as I could!

"We need to keep to our plan, keep it simple and aggressive."

    Scotland 320-10 v Oman

Well, some have it as 320-10 - others 320-9. A bit of confusion seemingly over whether Adrian Neill was dismissed or not with that last ball. Was it a run out, was it not? We'll find out for your shortly. Either way, Scotland definitely scored a very admirable 320.

They were helped there by the superb Brandon McMullen. A first hundred for Scotland and the 23-year-old did it some style, smashing it all over the ground.

His partnership with skipper Richie Berrington was the stand out, but unfortunately for Scotland they lost a few too many wickets as they chased that big score.

They'll be hoping it's a large enough total to intimidate the Omani batsmen, who will have to go for it from the off.

  10. wicket

WICKET Neill run out Maqsood 7published at 50 overs

    Scotland 320-10

It's all gone a bit village! The enormous Adrian Neill is in, and edges for four with his first ball. Definitely meant it.

He plays his next away for a quick single. It's overthrown, and Scotland take as many as they can, with Neill eventually run out as he charges up and down the wicket like a giraffe on the loose.

  11. wicket

WICKET Watt c Prajapati b Butt 25published at 49.4 overs

    Scotland 313-9 v Oman

Oh no! Mark Watt completely misreads that, with just two balls to go.

He was searching for the boundary, but his timing wasn't on. It's well taken by Prajapati down at long-off. It's not quite 40, but it's a 25 that Scotland will gratefully accept.

  12. Postpublished at 49.3 overs

    Scotland 313-8 v Oman

A four for Chris Sole! It didn't go where he intended, but a thick inside edge takes the full toss all the way to the rope.

The keeper fumbles the next, allowing the bye. That's sloppy, and these final few runs could be absolutely vital. It allows Watt back on strike.

  13. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 49 overs

    Scotland 307-8 v Oman

Sole gets three from his first two balls, benefitting from a misfield out on the boundary. He edges the second to slip, to get the 300 up for Scotland.

Watt is back on strike. Surprise, surprise, he goes big! It's a full toss and he smacks it past the Bulawayo bushes and into the car park! He makes it look so easy!

  14. wicket

WICKET Sharif b Bilal Khan 1published at 48.1 overs

    Scotland 297-8 v Oman

It's a fifer for Bilal Khan!

A toe-crusher from the seamer and Sharif has no answer. Khan is down in prayer, celebrating. He's dragged Oman back into this match, a marvellous display from the fast bowler but will it be enough for his side?

Chris Sole is in to support. Scotland were looking for 315 or 320... they'll do well to get it.

  15. wicket

WICKET Mackintosh b Butt 32published at 47.5 overs

    Scotland 296-7 v Oman

Disaster! Just as Mackintosh began to fire them away, he's dragged on a poor ball from Butt. He swings his bat in frustration, livid with himself.

It was looking like the perfect over for Scotland, but they've now lost a key wicket and fast bowler Safyaan Sharif is in to bat. Just get the big fella on strike.

  16. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 47.4 overs

    Scotland 296-6 v Oman

Mark Watt launches Fayyaz Butt to the boundary at speed. His footwork is brilliant, head over the ball, and it sails away. Creamed through extra cover.

Quick single puts Mackintosh on strike. He pulls it away over midwicket - it's big, it's huge, it's six!

  17. Postpublished at 47 overs

    Scotland 285-6 v Oman

Brilliant shot that, from Tomas Mackintosh. Perhaps his best of the day. He pulls it away on the deck, just dismissing that ball from Bilal Khan almost with a sneer.

Nine from that over. Scotland will want to keep that up for the remaining three overs to push themselves over the 300 mark.

  18. Postpublished at 47 overs

    Scotland 276-6 v Oman

Just four from the latest over from Fayyaz Butt. Mark Watt's average is 99 in this tournament so far, by the way. The perfect man for this position.

He's out there with young Tomas Mackintosh, who is pushing every quick run he can. I think Watt would prefer the boundaries.

The question Scotland might ask themselves after this innings, is should Leask have come in before Mackintosh? I guess we'll never know.

  19. Postpublished at 45 overs

    Scotland 272-6 v Oman

Within an over, Oman feel they are right back in this. However, Mark Watt will do his utmost to ensure they start their innings deflated.

He leans into this latest ball from skipper Maqsood, steering it past point and to the boundary rope. Eight from the over.

  20. wicket

WICKET Greaves b Bilal Khan 0published at 43.4 overs

    Scotland 262-6 v Oman

Well that's not very clever at all. Bilal Khan cleans Greaves out, only second ball. It's a slight change of pace, it nips back in and Greaves plays all around it.

A short stay, and Mark Watt is next in. He's been superb with the bat so far this tournament - another 40 or so would be very handy.
