  1. Scotland score first boundarypublished at 5 overs

    Scotland 10-1 v Oman

McMullen clips the first of Khan's over to fine leg, picking up another run.

On the fifth ball, you get something you don't see very often. Matthew Cross gets three as he flicks past square leg, who just recovers the ball on the rope.

McMullen is back on strike, and drives a crisp half-volley all the way to the boundary. Lovely shot, that'll give him some confidence. First boundary of the day.

  2. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Scotland 2-1 v Oman

McMullen is off the mark, inside edging Fayyaz Butt all the way to square leg.

Scotland are under real pressure here. The Omani seamers have got them on the back foot, moving the ball well and not giving anything away. Only two runs conceded from the first four overs.

  3. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Scotland 1-1 v Oman

A superb over from Bilal Khan, one that produces a maiden and very nearly a run out with the final delivery.

There was a loud appeal for LBW against Matthew Cross as he flicked off his pads. He thought there was a run on but Brandon McMullen sent him back, as the gathering fielder whipped the ball over the top of his stumps.

He was a yard out had that been a direct hit.

  4. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Scotland 1-1 v Oman

And Scotland are off the mark in the second over, as Matthew Cross edges away Fayyaz Butt away to deep third.

There's a big appeal from the next delivery. Butt angles in to Brandon McMullen, bang on his pad, but it seems to being going down leg. Alex Wharf is unmoved.

  5. Postpublished at 1 over

    Scotland 0-1 v Oman

Brandon McMullen is the next man in. He almost went for a golden duck against the UAE, falling for four in the end.

Bilal Khan steams in again... McMullen gets his bat in front - but he loses part of it in the process!

His bat has broken! A chunk of the bottom has come away!

  6. wicket

WICKET McBride lbw b B Khan 0published at 0.3 overs

    Scotland 0-1 v Oman

Oh for... Bilal Khan places it perfectly, pinning McBride bang in front of middle stump, smack on his pad.

Or was it? McBride is furious, he seems to think he got some bat to it before it struck him. Bongani Jele doesn't agree. The finger is up and McBride is off after only three balls.

Another early dismissal for Scotland. The worst possible start.

  7. Postpublished at 0.1 overs

    Scotland 0-0 v Oman

Chris McBride will face first, with Matthew Cross down the other end of the track.

Cross is yet to fire in this tournament, losing his wicket early doors in both games. McBride made 50 against Ireland but found himself in bother against the UAE.

Bilal Khan will open the bowling for Oman. Here he comes... and McBride plays it off his hips. He survives the first.

    Oman v Scotland (08:00)

As the anthems blare out, let me tell you about Oman quickly. Leading the group after two games, they fell to 98 all out against Sri Lanka on Friday.

The caveat is that Sri Lanka are, comfortably, the strongest in the group. However, such a meagre total will surely have dented their confidence. Or, it could have put some fire in the belly, motivated them to do better. We'll just have to see.

It's currently 8° in Bulawayo, would you believe. 19° in Edinburgh, though. Oman are in red with green trim, Scotland in dark blue with the thistle proudly emblazoned on their breast.

We're just about ready to get underway. Alex Wharf (ENG) and Bongani Jele (RSA) are the umpires.

    Oman v Scotland (08:00)

After a final ball win over Ireland, Scotland comprehensively dismissed the UAE comfortably - led superbly by captain Richie Berrington.

As wickets fell around his ears early on, he put on a batting clinic to stride to 127 - losing his wicket with the final ball of the innings.

Michael Leask impressed with the bat in both games, while Safyaan Sharif and Brandon McMullen have looked dangerous charging down the wicket with ball in hand.

Hi-De-Hi, campers! I believe it was Daniel Boone who sang ‘Sunday morning, up with the lark’.

Hey hey hey, it’s a beautiful day for a game of cricket in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

That’s where Scotland take on Oman in their third game of the World Cup qualifiers. A win would all but secure their place in the Super Six stage of the competition - where the top two progress to the World Cup proper.

But enough with all the mathematics. Let’s focus on today. Team news coming up.
