  1. Pak 177-4published at 31 overs

Iftikhar Ahmed strikes at 103.90 in ODIs. It is pretty unusual for players to be above 100 so we can expect him to play aggressively.

He gets down early to sweep Aryan Dutt away to the square-leg boundary. Nice shot.

Pakistan's top-order let Dutt settle early on but Iftikhar seems reluctant to let him do that.

Here's how Aryan Dutt picked up the wicket of Saud Shakeel.

Muhammad Rizwan is one of cricket's most likeable characters. He is a very popular player all around the world but he also has a brilliant attitude to his cricket.

  4. Pak 170-4published at 30 overs

I suspect Muhammad Rizwan will want to bat deep for Pakistan now, with others going bigger around him as reach the final 20 overs of the innings.

Rizwan does play a gorgeous upper cut for four though, using the extra pace of Paul van Meekeren to his advantage.

There's good running in the over too as Pakistan take 10 from it.

  5. Pak 160-4published at 29 overs

Iftikhar Ahmed is the new batter for Pakistan. He averages 47.2 in ODIs, and above 40 against both pace and spin.

That is down at 25 against off-spin so we may see Aryan Dutt continue to him for a while.

It's a watchful start for Iftikhar with just a single from his first four balls.

It wasn't a very convincing shot from Saud Shakeel. There was no reason to play it, either.

He was caught in two minds between the conventional sweep and the slog sweep, and that indecision means he didn't full commit to it.

That's an excellent catch at mid-wicket because it was in the air for a long time.

The partnership that was starting to look ominous is broken.

    Shakeel c Zulfiqar b Dutt 68 (Pak 158-4)

    From nowhere!

The change to Aryan Dutt works straight away for the Netherlands.

Saud Shakeel looks to sweep away, but the ball ends up being a bit fuller than he anticipated I think. He can't pull out of the shot and it loops up off the bottom of the bat.

It is in the air for a long time but Saqib Zulfiqar settles himself and takes a good catch at mid-wicket. Shouts of excitement follow from the Dutch fielders.

The pressure on bowlers in white-ball cricket these days - in both the men's and women's game - is immense. You can score 370 in an ODI and it's not enough any more.

This looks like a very good surface but for the Dutch, that might not be good news because it brings Pakistan's quicks into the game.

  10. Pak 158-3published at 28 overs

Scott Edwards is continuing to mix his bowlers around as the Netherlands search for a much-needed breakthrough.

Paul van Meekeren comes back on. He's potentially the quickest Dutch bowler so offers something a little different.

He gets a little clap from his captain as Saud Shakeel looks to ramp away but misses. Good line from Van Meekeren.

A no-ball at any stage is a bit of a no no for me.

A no-ball for having too many fielders out of the ring is therefore criminal.

Saud Shakeel duly punished the Netherlands.

  12. Pak 155-3published at 27 overs

Saud Shakeel seems pretty determined to not let Saqib Zulfiqar settle. He pre-meditates a reverse sweep and is a mile outside off-stump when he makes connection.

Zulfiqar comes back well, with just three singles off the remainder of the over. He does get away with a rank full toss to finish the over, mind.

This pair have barely given a chance. They have put the bad ball away, kept busy with their running between the wickets and played risk-free cricket.

It was a hectic start but they've really added some calmness to the innings.

  14. Pak 148-3published at 26 overs

Another tidy over from Logan van Beek, conceding four singles and a wide.

It's a glorious day in Hyderabad. Drinks are regularly being run on by the sub fielders.

    What an impressive player.

He is much better than his ranking of 47th in the world suggests!

Muhammad Rizwan joins Saud Shakeel in reaching his half-century. It's been a more patient innings from the wicketkeeper, bringing up the landmark off 59 balls, but it is a very important one.

Here is one of his six boundaries from earlier.

Zulfiqar has got an unorthodox action, it's like he bowls off the wrong foot.

It's a good move from the captain, they've got to keep trying different things.

  18. Pak 143-3published at 25 overs

Another change for the Netherlands as we see the part-time leg-spin of Saqib Zulfiqar for the first time.

Muhammad Rizwan's weakness is leg-spin, he only averages against 25 against it, compared to a career average of 36, so it could be a good move from Scott Edwards.

Zulfiqar offers Saud Shakeel some width and the left-hander works it fine for another boundary, and the century partnership.

I imagine the Pakistan changing room is a lot more relaxed now so it was an hour or so ago.

We all know that the Dutch are outsiders in this competition, but they got a brilliant start and when you get that, you have to make the most of it.

I hope we don't keep talking about that missed opportunity at slip to get rid of Shakeel when he wasn't even in double figures.

  20. Pak 135-3published at 24 overs

Scott Edwards knows that the Netherlands could do with a breakthrough so he returns to the extra pace of Logan van Beek.

It's a tidy over from the quick, conceding just three, but no sign of any danger for the Pakistan pair.
