This is where the Netherlands have to stay proactive. They've turned to their fifth or sixth choice bowlers and the Pakistan batters are looking to cash in.

Pakistan are just starting to go through the gears now. The boundaries are coming much more regularly.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Saud Shakeelpublished at 23 overs

Superb knock. Pakistan rate Saud Shakeel very highly and based on this innings it is easy to see why.

He smacks Vikram Singh down the ground for back-to-back boundaries, before he works a single out to square leg.

His maiden World Cup half-century comes up off 32 balls. It doesn't feel like he has been that aggressive but the shackles have come off in the last couple of overs.

It is the second-fastest for Pakistan in World Cups.

Pakistan are in a solid position now with this partnership starting to build.

These two need to bat at least another 10-15 overs together.

  5. Pak 121-3published at 22 overs

The partnership between Muhammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel is worth 83 now. Pakistan are starting to take control of this game again.

The projected score at this point is 293. That is potentially a match-winning one, although the Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards did say he expects it to get a bit easier for batting under the lights later on.

Saud Shakeel has certainly made the most of that sloppiness from the Netherlands.

  7. 6 runs

    Pak 118-3published at 21.2 overs

    Punished.

Saud Shakeel pumps the free hit over the long-on boundary. Great shot.

That one ball costs the Netherlands 11 runs.

  8. Pak 112-3published at 21.1 overs

    Shot!

Saud Shakeel uses his feet to advance slightly down the track and work Roelof van der Merwe into the mid-wicket boundary.

Oh no. Poor from the Netherlands. They had five outside the ring, when they are only allowed four. Good awareness from the Pakistan batters to flag it to the umpires too.

    Free hit incoming...

That was a beautiful shot. We've seen a couple of those shots from Rizwan now, and he's cashing in on the few occasions that the Dutch bowlers have erred in length.

  10. Pak 106-3published at 21 overs

A change for the Netherlands as Vikram Singh comes on to bowl his medium pacers.

Scott Edwards is standing up to the stumps as Singh attempts to bowl a very straight stump-to-stump line.

He over-pitches slightly and Muhammad Rizwan pumps a drive through the covers for a boundary. Glorious shot.

    Thanks Sam.

This has been a decent recovery from Muhammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel. They've got to keep going though, Babar Azam wanted 290-plus at the toss.

Just joining us? These are the three wickets to fall so far.

  12. Pak 101-3published at 20 overs

Apparently we had a five-ball over a little while ago. The 14th over, bowled by Paul van Meekeren, was a delivery shorter than it should have been.

It doesn't seem to have affected Pakistan too much, though, their recovery continues and they've now reached three figures.

To take you through the next stage of the innings, I'll hand you over to Callum Matthews.

This is a big opportunity for Shakeel, too. I think he's only played about six ODIs so to play an innings like this under pressure, he'll be hoping to kick on and to establish himself.

  14. Pak 97-3published at 19 overs

Very good fielding from Aryan Dutt as he runs and dives from mid on to cut off a wristy flick from Mohammad Rizwan.

Netherlands need that sort of thing to keep the energy up as Pakistan counter after their impressive start.

The partnership has passed 50 and both batters look like they are starting to time the ball better and settle into a nice rhythm.

  16. Pak 95-3published at 18.2 overs

    Beautiful timing from Mohammad Rizwan.

Very full ball from Bas de Leede and Rizwan meets it with the full face of the bat to send the ball racing back past the stumps at the non-striker's end for four.

We've got a lot of man power going into updating this scoreboard which is something like you'd see at an under 13s game!

Rizwan is just a quality player. He is very good at nailing his shot selection to ease the pressure at the right time.

  19. 50 runs

    Pak 90-3published at 18 overs

Fantastic sweep shot from Mohammad Rizwan to bring up the fifty partnership.

He nails the ball behind square off Roelof van der Merwe to find the boundary.

That'll keep those working on the old school scoreboard at Hyderabad busy!

Mohammad Rizwan is just the player you need when you've lost three early wickets.

He isn't known for his big-hitting but he's a very busy player and he will always look to score.
