He just felt outside off stump for it and the ball just moved away a little bit. It bounced a bit, took the edge and Bairstow doesn't drop many of those.

    Tanzid Hasan c Bairstow b Topley 1 (Ban 14-1)

    An early wicket!

A brilliant start from Topley. A bit of movement and a brilliant length on the delivery finds the outside edge of Tanzid Hasan's bat and is caught in the slips by Bairstow.

    A very straightforward catch.

  3. Ban 12-0published at 1 over

    Target 365

Three fours in as many balls for Das!

He adds one more boundary after going back-to-back and Woakes' first over goes for 12, ending with a dot ball.

The shorter ball fails to pay off, Das takes advantage and enters double figures.

Reece Topley will open at the other end.

  4. Ban 8-0published at 0.4 overs

    Target 365

An early boundary for Das who opens the scoring for Bangladesh and then follows it up with a second four in as many balls.

The first is wide of off stump but played across the line through the leg side, switching to his off side with the second.

We saw the Bangladesh seamers struggle early on by going too full searching for swing.

Running in and hitting the pitch simplifies your job so while there are two slips in place, I don't think Chris Woakes needs to go too full to try and find that swing.

Chris Woakes is going to open the bowling here, with Liton Das to face the first ball.

The teams are heading back out at Dharamsala and the second innings will be starting shortly.

Bangladesh are chasing 365 at a rate of 7.3 an over, already a tough rate to chase before a ball has even been bowled.

Mahedi Hasan was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, taking 4-71 off his eight overs, included the big wicket of Dawid Malan.

Dawid Malan was teeing off earlier today as he made his ODI career best of 140. That knock includes here where he hit back-to-back sixes.

    Thanks, Sam.

I think any England fan would have taken setting 365 before a ball was bowled today. However, based on how the game panned out, it could, and potentially should, have been closer to 400+.

Nevertheless, it is England's third best score at a World Cup and it was a brilliant knock from Dawid Malan.

Sorry, Les, maybe Bangladesh will chase these runs down and prove me wrong but I just can't get too disappointed about England making 364.

The runs count the same whenever they come.

Anyway, that's just one man's opinion. Jonty Colman is here to take over now and maybe he'll be livid that they didn't post 450...

And this is exactly why England won't win the World Cup again. Batters 1,2 & 3 set it up but the rest can't take advantage.

  14. Hassan strikes early in Hyderabadpublished at 5 overs

Pakistan's Hassan Ali celebrates the wicket of Kusal PereraImage source, Getty Images

The later game is underway in Hyderabad - where Pakistan are facing Sri Lanka - and it has been a pretty sedate start, but partly down to the fact that Hassan Ali removed Kusal Perera with his fourth ball.

Bowling across the left-hander there was a little bit of extra bounce from Hassan and it caught the edge as Perera looked to drive away.

Pathum Nissanka has hit a couple of boundaries, as has Kusal Mendis.

We're already seeing Shaheen Afridi go over the wicket, looking to cramp the right-handers for room. The left-arm quick has just been hit on the knee, as Mendis drives back down the ground. It was a catching opportunity for Shaheen, but a tough one.

That total should be enough for England.

  16. Eng 364-9published at 50 overs

England scamper through for a bye from the last ball of the innings after a swing and a miss from Mark Wood.

It might have been a few more but that is an imposing total on the board. As much as the top three made it look easy, batting wasn't always completely straightforward.

No doubt Bangladesh will give this chase a good go but it's advantage England at the halfway stage.

  17. wicket

Chris Woakes chases a very wide delivery from Taskin Ahmed and chips it up to point.

Mahedi Hasan takes the catch and there are four balls left in the innings as Reece Topley walks in.

It's like a hacking out of the bunker with all this sand flying up. At least with this big score, England don'e have to go flying about everywhere.

  19. Eng 362-8published at 49.1 overs

Heaved over mid-wicket for four by Chris Woakes!

It bounces about a foot short of the rope.

  20. Eng 358-8published at 49 overs

What a shot from Mark Wood!

He skips down to Mahedi Hasan and drills the ball through extra cover for four.

    He'll have enjoyed that one.
