Bangladesh were impressive here the other day against Afghanistan. You will lose games, it is just about staying calm and level as a team and remembering what you are about.

Pakistan will be happy with that last five overs. Just 32 runs conceded at this stage of the innings is a good return.

Dhananjaya de Silva holed out off Mohammad Nawaz, bringing captain Dasun Shaneka to the crease.

He is seven off 12 balls, while Sadeera Samarawickrama is unbeaten on 98 at the other end.

Into the final five overs we go. 350 the minimum, surely?

  3. Ban 174-6published at 35 overs

    Target 365

No five-wicket haul for Reece Topley but he ends with impressive figures of 4-43 from his 10 overs.

A good start to his World Cup for the left-armer.

Am I right in thinking that the losing side can get a better NRR than the winning side if they score quicker?

    Noah B

Don't think so, Noah, because the run-rate is based on a side batting 50 overs even if they're bowled out sooner.

The bowlers today have kept it simple, they haven't gone to plans that are risky like they did against New Zealand. I would maybe like to see some wrist spin to come into the attack.

Anyway, just a single from Mark Wood's latest over and he takes a tumble after bowling the final ball of it.

At least on such a sandy ground that should hurt a bit less than usual.

Reece Topley is a wicket away from becoming the fourth man to take a five-for for England at a World Cup.

After another tidy over, he's got one more to try and get it.

All this NRR conversation is slowly making me think they might have known what they were doing when they came up with it…

It feels like Wood is holding himself back a little bit. It is difficult, they are not all going through this pitch.

Mahedi Hasan is the new batter and gets off the mark with a single off Mark Wood.

The England seamer is back, presumably with the idea of breaking this stand then mopping up the tail.

That said, he's not charging in at quite full tilt and it's a quiet over with just two from it.

It'll be interesting to see how Bangladesh approach this now Mushfiqur Rahim has gone.

They looked to be trying to bat out the overs but now the senior man has gone, might the lower order try to have a bit of fun?

When it's your day, you pick up wickets like that. Mushfiqur can't quite believe it.

    Something has happened!

Short and wide from Reece Topley, it deserves to be punished but instead Mushfiqur Rahim carves it down to deep third.

Adil Rashid takes the catch and England are four wickets away from a comfortable victory.

Thankfully, we have NRR chat to keep us entertained.
