The crowd has been settled by this solid start from Pakistan…
That’s until Ravindra Jadeja throws the stumps down and suddenly there’s another earsplitting eruption of noise.
Just a pair of singles from the last five balls of the Mohammed Siraj over.
The Pakistan openers consider a third but it is Ravindra Jadeja fielding at backward point and they decide against it.
As if to warn them against ever taking him on, Jadeja throws down the stumps. Abdullah Shafique was safely back in his ground, though.

If Pakistan get around 320-330 they will feel really good. Dew will affect the game later but getting early wickets is going to be key.
Shaheen Afridi has to get it right. He hasn't yet.
Eased through the covers by Abdullah Shafique as Mohammed Siraj overpitches again.
It's a very quick outfield and the ball wins the race to the boundary sponge.
Cue deafening silence.
This vast stadium is a cauldron of noise... right up to the moment that Pakistan have the temerity to score a run.
Even just a single guided to deep third by Abdullah Shafique brings a disapproving silence from the India fans.
That's the only run of the over, though. Jasprit Bumrah was out for a long time with a stress fracture of the back but that doesn't seem to have affected him as clocks in the high 80mphs throughout.

It's amazing, considering the turbulent history these two countries have with each other, that these two teams have so much respect for each other. This is sport bringing people together. Should be a cracking match.

Two dot balls end the over but Pakistan are off to a good start after that little flurry of boundaries.
Imam-ul-Haq is doing his best to keep this crowd quiet!
He clips the ball through square leg for another boundary, his third in four balls, and Rohit Sharma has got his hands on his hips.
Not the start Mohammed Siraj would have wanted.
Mohammed Siraj opens from the other end and it's a loose delivery to start.
Swinging down the leg side and Imam-ul-Haq helps it on its way, flicking it away fine for four.
Four more! Too full this time and Imam drives it superbly back past Siraj. Three boundaries on the trot for Pakistan.

It will go for four to near silence. That's what Pakistan need to go. If they get going they can make the crowd quiet.
Pressure? What pressure? Abdullah Shafique was just biding his time.
He waits until the last ball of the over and works it firmly through mid-wicket for four.
Lovely shot to get Pakistan up and running.

This crowd will be exhausted tonight if they keep this pace up.
Good start from Jasprit Bumrah as he bowls to Abdullah Shafique.
The Pakistan opener will be disappointed to miss out as he flicks a ball on the pads straight to the square leg fielder.
Pressure building.

There are quite a lot of empty seats…

If you get a hundred in this game it means more than any other game so that's extra motivation for you as a player.
Right then, pre-match formalities out of the way. It is time for the action to begin!
Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq are out in the middle, Jasprit Bumrah is at the top of his mark for India...

We saw one brave Pakistan flag flying defiantly among this huge crowd. India's fans did respect the national anthem of Pakistan. What an event this should be.
The Pakistan anthem is respected by the India fans.
But then comes the India anthem and it is something to behold as it's belted out by more than 100,000 people.
I don't even think they had the music playing for it - or if they did it was completely drowned out by the fans.
