I'm quite surprised by the way South Africa have bowled to Roelof van der Merwe. They've let him play his trademark shot. I'd make him bat in front of square instead of bowling short and letting him play behind it.

Scott Edwards, with 38 to his name, just needs someone to stay with him.

Logan van Beek was the latest of his partners to depart.

The sweep shot brings reward for Scott Edwards once more, clubbing another to the boundary - much to Keshav Maharaj's annoyance.

Edwards is then hit rather gently on the helmet by a David Miller throw as he is sent back by Van der Merwe going for a second run. He's fine, but there will be a mandatory concussion check.

Speaking of sixes, Kagiso Rabada doesn't get hit for many.

But this one was nailed by Scott Edwards earlier.

He swung the bat as hard as he could, he had no idea where it was going. A 64m boundary, not the longest.

He goes again! And goes one better!

In frustration, Gerald Coetzee drops short and Van der Merwe upper-cuts over point for six!

What an entertaining cameo this is.

Hello! Van der Merwe makes it back-to-back fours by punching Gerald Coetzee's slower ball straight back down the ground.

He just gave himself a bit of room outside leg stump. Opened up the face to guide it through point. The ball was on off stump, but leaning back he gave himself room.

Or maybe Van der Merwe can just do it by himself.

A glorious deft touch, one that an opening batter would be proud of, finds its way to the ropes at deep third.

Roelof van der Merwe joins his captain in the middle, and Scott Edwards will be hoping that his lower order can hang around with him for these final nine overs.

He bowled it really, really slow. The previous delivery was quicker. Lots of turn and some lovely glovework from Quinton de Kock.

Maharaj breaks the partnership with a beauty!

Flight and turn deceives Logan van Beek completely and he walks off before even waiting for the third umpire's decision.

He misses with a defensive prod and Quinton de Kock gathers cleanly to do the rest.

Maharaj gets some deserved reward for his consistency.

Shot! Kagiso Rabada drops ever so slightly short, and Scott Edwards is on it in an instant.

It's clubbed over the leg side for an almighty six and Edwards moves to 33.

    Is 200 in sight now?

That was a nice shot. He extended his arms completely and played in front of square. The sweep is a very good shot if you can get it right.

Edwards is playing a captain's knock. He and Logan van Beek will have to bat for the next six or seven overs if the Netherlands are to get 200.

    Lovely!

Scott Edwards nails another slog sweep in the gap between square leg and mid-wicket, which brings him four more.

A rare boundary off the ever-consistent Maharaj.

The remarkably tall Marco Jansen has also been impressive.

    Thanks, Tom.

Well, South Africa are certainly in the driving seat, but Scott Edwards is playing a handy little knock to recover his side from a bit of a pickle.

The Dutch pair can only manage three from Kagiso Rabada's latest over, who has been a joy to watch today, as he so often is.

  18. Ned 123-6published at 30 overs

Just the two runs from Keshav Maharaj's latest over, he has conceded just 16 runs from his five overs so far.

It's time for me to take a break. Here is Ffion Wynne to guide you through the rest of this Netherlands innings.

I keep trying to think about the score and what the Netherlands will want but I keep going back to how good the South Africa bowlers have been today. Their length and line and the constant pressure they've put on the Dutch batters has been outstanding.

  20. Ned 120-6published at 29 overs

That will settle the nerves. Logan van Beek doesn't quite time his on-drive but it has just enough to trundle to the square-leg boundary.

A wide and a leg bye means that extras is now the Netherlands' top scorer so far with 24.
