  1. NZ 18-1published at 7 overs

Very useful runs for New Zealand, they don't care how them come.

On this occasion, it's from a thick outside edge down to deep third as Will Young slashes at a ball just outside off.

Young was trying to force something to break the shackles and gets a bit of luck.

India's opening bowlers have been very impressive but have taken just one wicket between them so far.

Here it is, Devon Conway well caught at mid-wicket off Mohammed Siraj...

There is a little bit in the surface and it is quite tricky for the left-handers particularly with the ball moving away.

You can see Will Young saying to Ravindra, just stay calm and it'll come.

Virat Kohli has got quite a lot to say to Rachin Ravindra, from what I can see.

  5. NZ 13-1published at 6 overs

Rachin Ravindra is struggling early on and drives at a ball that swings away from him to such an extent that the slips initially think there was an edge.

The left-hander is beaten again by Jasprit Bumrah to end the over, it's the off-cutter this time and it grips. That'll have the spinners licking their lips.

India's call to bowl first is working so far.

What we have seen from Rachin Ravindra so far is that he is very calm. A slow start won't faze him, he is confident that he can catch up if he stays in.

  7. NZ 11-1published at 5 overs

Wasted review aside, India have done everything right so far.

Another over goes by with just a pair of singles from it.

New Zealand have to hold their nerve and trust that the runs will come. That's easier said than done, though.

What a strange review. There was nothing going for that.

I wonder if that's how highly they rate Rachin Ravindra that they are prepared to use a review on him. He has been in outstanding form.

  9. Not outpublished at 4.3 overs

    NZ 10-1

Not even close. That is a waste of a review from India.

The impact was umpire's call and it was heading even further down leg.

    It never looked right.

Jasprit Bumrah thinks this is doing too much. It was Kohli and Rohit that were interested.

  11. India reviewpublished at 4.3 overs

    NZ 10-1

Jasprit Bumrah hits Rachin Ravindra on the pad.

It looks to be heading well down leg, Bumrah says as much but those behind the stumps are very interested.

    Rohit Sharma sends it upstairs.

India are more than up for this challenge. The crowd is right behind them.

All the pressure is on New Zealand.

  13. NZ 9-1published at 4 overs

Wicket maiden from Mohammed Siraj. India are really putting the squeeze on New Zealand in the opening exchanges.

Rachin Ravindra is the new batter and hits a firm drive but it's well stopped in the covers.

It was on middle and leg stump and Devon Conway is looking to clip it easily into the leg side.

It's a great catch and Conway can't believe he has done that. He is a huge part of this New Zealand batting line-up so that is a big blow.

It's two failures in a row for him as well and that rarely happens.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.3 overs

    Conway c Shreyas b Siraj 0 (NZ 9-1)

Clipped to mid-wicket and India have the early breakthrough!

On the pads from Mohammed Siraj, Devon Conway tries to flick it away but the ball goes at a catchable height and Shreyas Iyer dives to take a very good catch.

That's an important wicket for India to ramp up the pressure on New Zealand.

I don't mind this from New Zealand. They're not scoring quickly but they know that the threat here will be the swinging ball from Bumrah and Siraj.

They are happy to be patient and get through the first 10 overs.

Virat Kohli is so excitable. He's hopping around at slip even though the ball has been left at least a foot outside off stump.

  19. NZ 9-0published at 3 overs

Super over again from Jasprit Bumrah, rattling off five dot balls to Will Young after that fortuitous boundary to start the over.

There is still that smidgen of lateral movement but it is the immaculate line that is really making life difficult for the New Zealand openers.

Will Young played that so late, he was almost withdrawing from the shot.
