Drinks breakpublished at 14:55 BST 23 October 2023
There have been plenty of bad balls for the openers to put away, and they haven't missed out.
The drinks break comes at a good time for Pakistan, who need someone to step up - and quickly.

It has been a top-quality innings. He has played pace and spin well.
Afg 105-0
Gurbaz joins his opening partner in reaching a stylish half-century.
It has been chanceless from this pair. Pakistan have not been at the races but they've made the most of it.

Pakistan are not switched on in the field. There is a lack of confidence from those two heavy losses to India and Australia. It just isn't working.
The wheels are coming off.
A horrible drag down from Shadab, but it should be cut off by Shaheen Afridi, who is stationed at deep mid-wicket.
Instead, he runs too far past it and the ball spins past him for four runs. That's the century partnership, too.
Played.

Pakistan need a couple of good overs and then they will get a reaction from this pair.
More spin. It worked for Afghanistan in the middle overs, so Babar Azam turns to Shadab Khan.
Afghanistan are starting to break away from Pakistan.
Pakistan were 78-1 after 15 overs.
Luckily for Usama, he gets away with one - the free hit only concedes a single.
From bad to worse.
Usama Mir has bowled a no-ball. Gives away a free hit, too.
Criminal.
Afg 94-0
Too full from Usama Mir, and that'll be four. It takes Ibrahim to 49 before an easy single down the ground takes the 21-year-old to his half-century.
A superb innings so far. He looks in complete control, helped by some wayward Pakistan bowling.

Afghanistan can be found out in 50 overs because you need to last, unlike in T20, but they have just followed their process and not their reputation. They've stood firm and the results are there.
Pakistan are struggling to get Afghanistan's opening partnership out here, with both batters looking in good touch. But what should Pakistan be aiming for?
Prior to this World Cup starting, Gurbaz's primary weakness in ODI cricket was left-arm orthodox spin, averaging 24.66 against it.
For Zadran, he averaged just 7.25 against left-arm pace in that time.

Gurbaz is the better player of short bowling and you could tell he rolled his wrists there and found the gap.
Target 283
As well as Afghanistan started, my worry for them was their top-heavy batting line-up and the pressure that could be on their middle order if the run chase gets close.
But at this rate, they won't even need the middle order.
Gurbaz smokes another Haris Rauf short ball for four with impeccable timing.

There's a rate of 5.4 needed for Afghanistan to win. It's a difficult pitch but it may get easier later if there is a little bit of dew.
Target 283
The runs continue to flow.
Ibrahim gets a streaky boundary off an edge and the reaction from Usama Mir - grimacing, with his hands on his hips - tells you all you need to know about how this is going for Pakistan right now.

The win predictor at the minute has got Afghanistan at 62%. Pakistan are only at 38%.

It was a strange attempt at a dive. I'm not saying it should have been taken but he should have got a hand to it. I don't know how to explain that.
Oh, that's quite unlucky for Pakistan.
Gurbaz mistimes a pull shot off Haris Rauf's short ball, the two fielders in the deep converge but Hassan Ali slips in the outfield to end any attempt at a catch.
The ball trickles away for four to spoil what was otherwise a decent over from Rauf.
Afghanistan's charge continues.
