England have started brilliantly but they need Rohit Sharma's wicket. Soon.
The next ball is short, wide and punished for four.
Someone give Mark Wood a hug.

The biggest cheer of the day as Rohit Sharma survives. Normally, when Adrian Holdstock gives you out, it is out. A very good review.
Missing leg stump!
Mark Wood storms back to his mark in disbelief.

That looks out to me live, there was silence from the crowd there.
Immediate impact!
He pins Rohit Sharma on the pads, the umpire's figure goes up but the batter reviews.
Big moment...
Mark Wood has had a tough World Cup. But usually he's been brought on to bowl when England have conceded a very expensive start.
Will he fare any better with a decent start behind him?

Before today, Chris Woakes has taken two wickets in this World Cup at 82.5 a piece. Today, he has bowled seven overs, taken a maiden and has figures of 2-23.

I think it's difficult to say what a good score would be. The extra and irregular bounce, the fact it's used, makes it look like a tricky batting surface. When it is fuller, it looks like it is not carrying, which is why Joe Root is standing in the slip cordon with a helmet on.
Another lovely over from Adil Rashid whizzes by, just the single from it to bring up India's fifty.
This is quite a contrasting start to the one I live texted yesterday of Australia's first innings. At the same stage they were 151-0.

Rohit Sharma realises he has to start asserting a bit of pressure back on England's bowlers. India have a long tail today too without Hardik Pandya.
Just joining us?
Here are the three wickets that England have taken.
One bounce four, smashed down the ground by Rohit Sharma as he releases some pressure.
That brings the crowd to life once more. For now.

Rohit Sharma was on 17 off 11. He is now on 28 off 38.

The momentum of the England bowlers has been brilliant. Chris Woakes is in fantastic rhythm.
It would be so on-brand for England to finish bottom of the table in this World Cup but thrash the (potentially) eventual winners.

Looks like a tricky pitch. India will know that 240 could well be a match winning score.

This is the England we've been waiting to see all tournament. They are buzzing, quick between the overs and backing each other up.
Obviously it's hard to do that when things aren't going well, as has been the case quite often, but it's finally nice to see it.

Chris Woakes' wicket of Shubman Gill was a good delivery. The other two wickets have been as a result of just very good pressure bowling. Good captaincy and very good cricket all-round.
Shreyas c Wood b Woakes 4 (Ind 40-3)
Gone this time!
A wicket of frustration again, as Shreyas Iyer plays a horrible slog across the line and the ball flies up in the air off the edge. It goes high in the air but Mark Wood steadies himself at mid-wicket to take a calm catch.
More reward for Chris Woakes, who has bowled beautifully this morning.
