He tried to create an angle that wasn't quite there, it was too tight to him and he couldn't generate the power.

But he played really nicely, 108 from 105 balls.

He was out there when it was all kicking off with the Angelo Mathews situation but he's managed to block it out to take his side to a good total.

Asalanka played a blinder but he is on his way.

He sliced it away and it almost got to the boundary but not quite.

    Six and out!

Charith Asalanka looks to slap the ball through the off side but the ball flies off a top-edge and straight to the fielder at deep point.

An excellent innings comes to an end.

Asalanka is really making the most of these last couple of overs.

He got hold of that one!

This is also aerial, but the fielder needs to be 20 foot tall to get there as Charith Asalanka heaves the ball over the square leg boundary and into the stands.

    Great shot.

  7. SL 272-7published at 48.2 overs

It is very nearly a century and out for Charith Asalanka as he pulls towards deep square leg, but the ball lands just short of the fielder running in from the rope.

Another aerial pull this time from Dushmantha Chameera lands safe.

Sri Lanka understandably taking risks now.

Such a good knock from Asalanka and he's done this time and again for Sri Lanka.

    He's such a consistent performer.

Others would have been riled with what happened with Angelo Mathews but he's managed to keep a calm head and guide his side to what looks like a good total.

A century is always good, but in the circusmtances this is a brilliant knock from Charith Asalanka.

He pulls the ball away fine for four to move to 98, before pushing the ball into the leg-side to move to three figures.

The Sri Lanka fans in the crowd go wild as Asalanka calmly raises his bat and lifts off his ihelmet.

    Well played.

That was a good over from Shakib amidst all the controversy.

Just four runs from it which is excellent at this stage of the game.

Good over from Shakib Al Hasan at this stage of the match, just four from it, with new batter Dushmantha Chameera on strike next over.

Dushmantha Chameera is the new batter to join Charith Asalanka, who is 94 not out and looking in great touch.

Really good piece of bowling. The angle of the left-armer into the right-hander, there was no other option for the batter.

He could pull it so he just had to run it down to third and it's a comfortable catch.

Sri Lanka are not in a bad position, though, if Asalanka can take most of the strike from here.

Theekshana did not look happy against the short ball and the third one of the over, he gets cramped for room and is caught at deep third.

  19. Umpire reviewpublished at 45.1 overs

There's another direct hit from the outfield as Sri Lanka look to pinch a single. Bangladesh have been sharp in the field today.

Charith Asalanka looks to be safely home but the umpire's send it upstairs for a second look.

From the footage we're getting from the stadium, all we're seeing is players and coaches looking at screens and they're only looking at one thing.

Sri Lanka need to put that Angelo Mathews dismissal to bed and focus on the job at hand.

Deal with that after that game. At the moment, it's seeping into their performance.
