Afghanistan have got that decision to make. Do they keep knocking it around like this and hope for an explosive last 10 or 12 overs?

Or do they take a bit more of a gamble? Ibrahim Zadran is the key.

  2. Afg 124-2published at 26 overs

Captain Cummins follows on from Stoinis and goes for just two singles himself, ending with a brilliant Yorker on the toes of Hashmatullah Shahidi.

Afghanistan could do with Hashmatullah staying in and keeping Zadran company as he looks to reach three figures. If Afghanistan do that, they could help set a competitive score.

Can Australia hold on to this potential semi? I think they may lose it here.

Both wickets in this innings have been freebies for Australia.

  5. Afg 122-2published at 25 overs

At the halfway stage, Afghanistan find themselves on 122-2. They scored five off that over, but more crucially, Australia took the wicket of Rahmat and broke what had been a very settled partnership.

Pat Cummins replaces Stoinis after his one tidy over.

The first ball that Glenn Maxwell hasn't gone fast into the pitch, it's still quick but slightly fuller.

Rahmat comes down the pitch and just chips it straight to long-off.

    Maxwell really enjoyed that one!

He tried to go inside out but after all that patience, Rahmat has chipped one so gently to the fielder.

It feels like he has given that one away.

    Rahmat c Hazlewood b Maxwell 30 (Afg 121-2)

    An easy catch for Hazlewood.

That 83-run partnership is broken as Maxwell shows why Australia have already given him six overs today.

This time it was fuller and with a little bit less pace, Rahmat just chips it up and it is an easy catch for Hazlewood to take at long-off.

Stoinis is one of those bowlers that will either go at 12 an over or he'll do a very good job for you, as he is doing now.

  10. Afg 117-1published at 24 overs

A pleasing start as far as Stoinis is concerned. He is hit for just two singles in that over with Afghanistan not quite finding the gaps off his first over.

That was the first non-spin over for six overs and it proved to be worthwhile for Australia.

  11. Afg 115-1published at 23 overs

A very quick over from Maxwell concedes four runs, all of which are singles, with Afghanistan looking comfortable at just rotating the strike so far.

Batting wise, they are going at exactly five runs an over at this stage.

After Head's previous expensive over, Marcus Stoinis is coming on for the first time today.

If Australia win then they're in the semi-finals.

But they could lose this and their next one and still make it, so it's not must-win by any stretch of the imagination.

Ibrahim Zadran is now on 60. Here are the best shots from him so far, as he looks to become Afghanistan's first ever World Cup centurion.

Eight runs come from the over in total, with Afghanistan finding success against the part-time spin of Head.

We've seen plenty of turn on this pitch already and Australia have already bowled plenty of spin, with Glenn Maxwell now replacing Zampa for his fifth of the day so far.

Good shot but if you're Travis Head then you don't mind this.

It wasn't hit with much force and it plodded to the boundary.

As a spin bowler, you want them playing you back down the ground and bringing the catches into play.

  16. Afg 108-1published at 21.3 overs

A lush stroke from Rahmat Shah for four. Travis Head gave his previous shot a quickly retracted appeal for a wicket and Rahmat responds by coming down the pitch and just clipping that over mid-off.

He and Zadran look in great touch.

I think Adam Zampa has had a fresh trim.

  19. Afg 103-1published at 21 overs

Adam Zampa rattles through that over, with only singles coming from it. Four of them in total.

Zampa has been so destructive in this World Cup and even when he has not taken wickets, he has largely kept things tidy.

Travis Head continues at the other end.
