Well, that's a decent way to end the powerplay!

Short again from Atkinson but Athanaze goes one better, launching it over square leg for six. An expensive over from Atkinson, 10 from it.

All of England's top five reached 20 but only one made it to a half-century in Harry Brook. West Indies need a batter - or two - to kick on to a big score if they are going to reach this daunting total.

Short ball... in the air... but four! Alick Athanaze isn't afraid to take on Atkinson's pace and it's going pretty well for him so far.

    Target 326

After four overs costing 30, Sam Curran is replaced by more pace in the form of Brydon Carse.

Brandon King hasn't quite managed to find the fluency of his opening partner Athanaze so far, and he releases some of his frustration with an awkward club down the ground for two runs.

He gives his bat a questioning look, as there was no timing there whatsoever.

Just a single from a very tidy Gus Atkinson over.

He's caused a bit of difficulty for the batters with his pace, which seems to come from nowhere after a smooth run-up and Jofra Archer-style flick of the wrist.

  5. WI 41-0published at 7 overs

    Target 326

Brandon King heaps further misery on to Sam Curran with an outside edge that flies away for four. First slip would have gobbled it up, but there's none in place which indicates how inconsistent Curran has been.

It was a streaky shot from King but it was too full and wide which allowed him to get away with it.

If West Indies reach their target of 326, it would be their second-highest successful ODI run chase of all time.

Their highest was 331-5 against Ireland in 2019.

In the same year, they did manage to score 389 against England but still lost - with Jos Buttler scoring 150 from 77 balls that day.

    Shot!

Gus Atkinson drops too short and Alick Athanaze cuts it away for four. It reaches the boundary in a flash.

The opener has started beautifully, moving to 30 from 26 balls.

You cannot bowl on leg stump with fine leg up. Problems for Curran.

This isn't great from Sam Curran.

Twice more he drifts on to the pads of Athanaze, who clips the first for four and takes two from the other.

  10. WI 26-0published at 4 overs

Much better from Gus Atkinson. He starts with a wide but corrects himself to string together six dot balls, including a big swing and a miss from Brandon King that whistles ever so closely past his off stump.

More lovely timing from Athanaze concludes the over, this time stroking the ball beautifully through the covers.

A mixed start from England so far.

Bit of pressure on Curran here. He had a dismal time with the ball in India, and he hasn’t started too well here. Just losing his line onto the left-handed Athanaze’s pads.

  13. WI 21-0published at 2.2 overs

Down the leg side from Sam Curran and easily whipped off the pads for four by Alick Athanaze.

Curran repeats the same ball again, frustratingly, but Athanaze misses and it draws half an appeal from Jos Buttler - but it came off the thigh pad.

Bhavin Shah: People need to stop worrying about Jos. All good players go through a lean patch and they look worse when the player is normally that good. Look at Kohli between 2019 and 2021. Form temporary, class permanent.

Oh, glorious from Brandon King now as he drives Gus Atkinson with exquisite timing through the covers for four.

Very few signs of that variable bounce that we saw in the first innings, so far.

    Hello!

Sam Curran strings three dot balls together before giving away a free hit by overstepping, and Athanaze gratefully pulls it for six!

Promising start for the West Indies.

    Thanks, Tom.

Well, it's going to be a very tricky task for West Indies but they start nicely, with Alick Athanaze clipping Sam Curran's first ball through the leg side for a couple.

The players are back out in the middle as West Indies begin their chase of 326.

Brandon King and Alick Athanaze will open the batting with Sam Curran (minus sunglasses) opening up for England with the ball.

If the West Indies are to chase down England's 325 they will do so without many of their leading white-ball players. Jason Holder, Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran are all currently unavailable as they are playing in the T10 league in Abu Dhabi.

Sir Alastair Cook on TNT Sports: "West Indies didn't get it right in the powerplay. England capitalised on everything that was overpitched and everything that was short.

"There was too much inconsistency and it wasn't a great display of bowling. It was a T20 start, and both of them would have been frustrated to miss out on a big score which ODI cricket allows you the time to do."
