  1. Ind 12-0published at 3 overs

    Lead by 304

A very good over from Lauren Bell.

She finds Shafali Verma's edge again next ball but this time it doesn't carry to first slip.

A batting collapse and a dropped catch. Day two is going well for those playing England overseas Test bingo.

  2. dropped catch

Verma dropped on 0published at 2.4 overs

    Lead by 304

    Put down at second slip!

Wobble-seam delivery from Lauren Bell and she finds the outside edge as Shafali Verma pushes at it.

The ball goes quickly and Heather Knight can't hold on as she sticks out her left hand. Could she have gone with both?

Really poor batting display apart from NSB. I know Jones was unlucky here, but yet another failure and I really think we need some keeper-batter competition.

  4. Ind 11-0published at 2 overs

    Lead by 303

Smriti Mandhana goes again but doesn't get the timing.

She still gets four, though, thanks to a misfield from Danni Wyatt in the deep. Not what England need.

Sophie Ecclestone comes back well, drawing a play and miss before an inside edge from Mandhana brings a single.

Australia celebrate after Nathan Lyon dismissed Abdullah Shafique on 42

Pakistan have lost their first wicket in Perth and are 74-1 chasing 487 in the first innings in Perth.

In his first game back after missing the end of the Ashes through injury, Nathan Lyon dismissed Abdullah Shafique on 42, with David Warner taking the catch.

  6. 6 runs

    Ind 6-0published at 1.1 overs

    Lead by 298

OK, maybe they are in a hurry!

Smriti Mandhana gets down on one knee and slog-sweeps Sophie Ecclestone for six first ball.

    Wow.

  7. Ind 0-0published at 1 over

    Lead by 292

Maiden over to start from Lauren Bell.

There is some swing for her in to the right-handed Shafali Verma but no alarms for the India opener.

Verma leaves a couple outside off, suggesting the home side are in no real hurry yet.

India are definitely not enforcing the follow-on. I can say that with absolute certainty because their openers are back out in the middle.

Lauren Bell - without a Test batting average - is preparing to bowl the first over of the evening session.

The good news is Lauren Bell has batted three times in Test cricket and never been dismissed.

    Every cloud!

Nat Sciver-Brunt made 59 before being bowled by a ripper from Sneh Rana.

The England top six all made double figures but the next highest score was Danni Wyatt's 19.

Stash: Enough to make you choke on your porridge. Fair play to India as so much better than England in all aspects of this match. No easy answers for sure...

  12. Tea - India lead by 292 runspublished at 08:27 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2023

An early tea is being taken and it sounds as though India have not enforced the follow-on.

With such a big lead and so much time left in the game, that makes sense.

They can bat for a while, set England a huge total and still give themselves a couple of days to bowl them out again on a pitch that is only going to get better for the spinners.

Halfway through the 30th over, England were 126-4.

Not brilliant position but not horrendous either. Six overs and just 10 runs later, they've been bowled out for 136.

Losing 6-10, no matter how you look at it, that is pretty horrendous.

  14. 'One of England's worst passages of play in a long time'published at 08:21 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2023

    Ffion Wynne
    BBC Sport cricket writer

    That was just absolutely bizarre.

It's happened in the blink of an eye and is actually quite hard to work out what happened.

Deepti Sharma is a smart bowler, the pitch is helping the spinners a bit and Harmanpreet Kaur has been canny with her captaincy.

But England should be able to withstand that. It is one of the worst passages of play I have seen from Heather Knight's team in a long time.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 35.3 overs

Filer b Deepti 5 (Eng 136 all out)

That'll do it! It's five for Deepti Sharma.

No turn this time and that's what does for Lauren Filer as the off-spinner sneaks it past the outside edge to hit off stump.

What a spell from Deepti, 5-7 in 5.3 overs!

Now we await the decision on the follow-on...

  16. Eng 136-9published at 35 overs

Lauren Filer hacks the ball out to deep mid-wicket for a single.

That's the only run from the over as Rajeshwari Gayakwad returns.

England’s struggles against spin are a worrying trend. Ash Gardner in the Ashes, Sri Lanka in those T20s, now this…

On the plus side, as long as India don’t enforce the follow-on, Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean should have some fun on this pitch.

  18. Eng 135-9published at 34 overs

Lauren Bell survives the last two balls of the over.

Attention now turns to whether India will enforce the follow-on?

Given the way England have batted since lunch, they could finish this game today if they do.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 33.4 overs

    Cross c & b Deepti 1 (Eng 135-9)

Tossed up by Deepti Sharma and Kate Cross slaps it back to her. England have folded horribly here.

It's actually a very good return catch from Deepti, who now has 4-7 in this spell, because the ball actually swung after Cross drove it.

Lauren Bell walks out. One wicket left in the innings.

  20. Eng 135-8published at 33 overs

Lauren Filer is the new batter and is promptly off the mark with a boundary.

A thumping shot back over mid-on for four.
